Draken was, at first, skeptical when you called to meet up and take him somewhere. He was even more suspicious when Mikey texted him to, 'not ask questions'. He was also annoyed and on alert.
Annoyed because he promised Grandpa Sano he'd always make sure Mikey made it to class, even if he was late. School was important and he'd make it important to Mikey one way or another, even if it was all on him.
Suspicious because Mikey stayed the night with you. He didn't think anything inappropriate happened, but Mikey was known to overshare when he felt comfortable with someone.
Also, he texted Draken, not called.
What the hell was going on? Mikey always called him.
So something was up.
It was still chilly in the early January morning so Draken wore his white gang jacket with the tan and red scarf Emma had bought him for his birthday last year. He dipped his chin further into the fluffy material to better cover his nose and tried to steady his nerves.
He had walked to the meet up place, the park by the brothel, since you said you'd drive him to where ever you had Mikey at.
He fingered Mikey's hair tie in his pocket and sighed again. He had said on plenty of occasions that Mitsuya was far more perceptive than he was, and maybe that was because he was a big brother to two baby sisters, but he didn't need to be Mitsuya levels of perceptive to know that you joining Toman was shaking up everyone's lives.
You were changing everything. The shady stuff you revealed about Kisaki, the shit about Taiju and your willingness to be one of them.
Draken didn't need to be perceptive to know that you were an asset and the future was going to be far more exciting than the last few months proved to be.
He stood off to the side of a park bench, watching early morning drivers pass by and civilians going about their new day with the ease of a mundane, everyday casualness.
He didn't really envy that. Maybe one day, but that day wasn't today.
He stood taller when he heard your bike before he saw it, the signature "wawoom" of your 01' V-Rod 1100 echoing off the cars you swerved around.
You were wearing a similar jacket to his and a pair of sweatpants and sandals.
How the hell did you and Mikey wear sandals in this weather? He'd never know.
"Good Morning, Draken-kun~" You sounded wide awake and chipper, your smile showing teeth and eyes closed.
"Morning."
"Well, let's go. Mikey-kun's been a pain in the ass already, and I really need your help," You complained as Draken climbed behind you onto the bike, holding onto the seat as you took off.
"Honest, I don't know how you make him so presentable in the morning, his hair looks like birds nest."
Draken actually chuckled at that, "Mikey makes it hard."
And he did, but Draken didn't mind, and Mikey knew he didn't so he was even brattier.
You weren't driving as fast as you were when you had arrived and you weren't swerving around cars either. Why the hell were you being overly cautious?
"Hey, so I'm just going to come out and say it so you don't flip out when you get to my house."
Draken rose a brow at that, what the hell was that supposed to mean?
"So, me, Koko, and Inui live in Shinichiro-kun's old bike shop."
That was weird, but ultimately fine. You all were free to live where ever the hell you wanted. Growing up and living in a brothel his whole life didn't really give him the right to criticize anyone else's living arraignments.
