The clear skies made for a nice day. The breeze was brisk, nothing Mitsuya's winter vest couldn't protect him from.
He rose his head to watch his youngest sister, Mana, riding Hakkai's shoulders, she was laughing and swinging her arms above her head.
His hand was tugged on and he looked down to his other sister, Luna, who was grinning, her front two teeth missing, her innocent eyes shining, pointing at a food cart by the water.
He loved his sisters more than anything in this world, so of course he bought them and Hakkai a custard filled taiyaki. Even if it cut into his budget for today.
Mana and Luna laughed as they made their fish swim through the air, Hakkai having to kneel down in order for Mana and Luna's fish to kiss.
Mitsuya couldn't help but smile.
Hakkai grinned when they made his fish swim with theirs too.
He missed this. He missed the smiles on his sister's round faces as they experienced new things. Just the sight of them happy was enough to make his day.
He hadn't taken his sisters anywhere but to the park near their apartment for a few months now and they were sure to tell him all about it often. So he decided Friday to take his sisters and Hakkai to Yokohama on Sunday while his hard working mother spent the day resting at home
He, Hakkai, Mana and Luna had taken the Minatomirai Line to Yamashita Park. They were going to hang out at the park then head to the Red Brick Warehouse for some shopping and lunch. It was going to be the perfect productive Sunday.
The autumn trees with their reds, yellows and browns were breathtaking as their leaves fell onto the pathway, crunching underfoot. He followed the others into the trees and onto a patch of grass in the sun.
Hakkai set down Mana, "Me and your brother are gunna talk so don't go far."
"Okay Kai-nii-chan!!" They yelled out together, running around, chasing each other with their half eaten taiyaki.
Mitsuya's smile hadn't left as he watched his sisters from the wire bench, Hakkai sat down next to him, sprawling out.
It was silent for a while, the park mostly empty, save for a few couples around the fountain and on the pier, others making their way to the Red Brick Warehouse.
"How are you holding up?" Hakkai asked suddenly and the younger didn't need to explain, his friend understood him.
Baji.
Baji was his friend for the last few years. He met him through Draken when Draken and Mikey became friends when they were in elementary.
Baji was... Baji. He was reckless, and street smart. He was wild and unpredictable. He was always ready to throw down for his friends. Baji was someone Mitsuya respected greatly.
And someone he equally missed.
"I'm doing okay," He sighed, "I'm more worried about Mikey more than anyone else."
Hakkai just nodded along with him. Mikey and Baji knew each other since they were little kids, the first in their friend group to meet.
Mitsuya watched as his sisters continued to run from one side of the field to the other, racing while doing summer saults and cart wheels. It was amusing to see them trying their best to run fast on short little, legs.
"Taka-chan," Hakkai started, and the uncertain treble in his tone had Mitsuya giving him slightly more attention than his sisters for a moment.
"Yeah?"
