Kisaki Hinatsuru wasn't one many crossed and those who had, had paid the price.
Born wealthy and powerful; Made wealthier and more powerful.
She called herself a 'self made woman', but that wasn't true at all. Her parents and her parent's parents were from a long line of business people. Her father was upset, of course, that he had a daughter first and son second, but when she stepped down from any inheritance he had been overjoyed and used his resources to get her this job in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The job was a cushy one, full of perks and she was high enough on the totem pole that she could freely delegate most of her work to underlings. This was something she did often and something she held no shame in, even if she often abused that authority.
She wasn't soft and she was pitiless.
She married into a moderately wealthy family where the second son was about to graduate abroad for his MD-PHD. He was bred well, his lineage reaching far and marriage between their families would only provide benefits.
Anyways, she was powerful and to get to Kisaki Hinatsuru, well, there was really only one way. And it was happening right now. Her issue that could topple her entire empire and bring her own name incredible shame.
Hinatsuru wasn't in the mood to be in the court house, but here she was, dealing with some completely bogus charges. She thought that Isobe probably did assault a woman, but she wasn't one to act without facts.
This was a disaster.
Hinatsuru leaned back in her seat and readjusted her pencil skirt, legs perfectly placed, her hair immaculate. Though her neutral face didn't not display her anxiety that was wracking her soul.
"Buchou (boss/manager)," A weaselly man with graying hair bowed to the woman, his face showing the anxiety that she refused to show, "the evidence hasn't been admitted yet, but it's only a matter of time--"
She rose her hand elegantly and dismissed his rambling words. This evidence against Isobe Seiji was awful and spelt doom to her entire reputation. The man in question was shaking in his seat nearby, his lip between his teeth and eyes looking around the room in a squirrely way. She can't have this fake, yet incredibly convincing, evidence get out but she also can't remove him from her direct team. It would be impossible.
She remembered when she first saw the "evidence" against Isobe, he was in a green suit with a teen girl in a western styled bar in Roppongi, the angle the photo was taken at was incredibly suggestive.
She tightened her grip and immediately loosened it. Her nails orderly and glossed as they left crescent shapes in her palms.
Either way she ends up with the terrible outcome and loses her own position. The shame!
She did not show any emotion on her face as she sat even straighter. Before she could answer the lawyer one of her assistance rushed over to her and bowed lowly, "Buchou!" Her whisper was strained as she held out a phone for her boss, "It's advised to answer now."
Hinatsuru rose a brow. She stood gracefully and gave the recessed room a half bow before taking the phone and entering a side room to the courtroom.
"Moshi, Moshi," She answered, her tone relaxed and in control of her emotions.
"Ah, hello, Kisaki-tono~" The voice greeted with a cheer that naturally got on her nerves, "I'm sorry to interrupt your current trial against your junior."
"Who am I speaking with?" She cut to the chase, unwilling to tolerate any games from this annoying voice.
"Haha~ How bossy," the person teased and Hinatsuru narrowed her eyes, unimpressed.
