Chapter 39: Queen of Hearts

Under the dictatorship of Lucifiene, the Red Kingdom fell into despair. The people were discriminated, some of them were sold as slaves, and some of them were ransacked from their human rights. Lucifiene made it clear on her decree that the Red Kingdom will now be called The Forsaken Land.

It is where the betrayers live, therefore they do not have the right to live like a human. Lucifiene's people where worried at first. Of course, her people are caring and loving humans, they cannot treat others like animals. Even though they were allowed to buy slaves, they still couldn't do it. They don't want to hurt anybody and this new system is just too much for them, especially for the people of the Red Kingdom.

But then, humans are still humans. They have feelings. They have free will. The people of the Red Kingdom became outraged. And they tried to ovethrow Queen Lucifiene. They invaded villages and cities on her country, the people of the Golden Land became wary and their hearts started to turn black.

People from this Forsaken Land must be crucified from their sins.

The Queen had always knew that this would happen. She knew that her people, which was well taken care of by her father, could not even hurt a fly. But she must teach them that not all fellow humans are nice. She's been that naive girl who thought she would be accepted because of her flaws. Because of her bewitching and frightful powers. An anomaly from the universe. A curse, or a blessing. Of course, humans are just humans. If they see something that they couldn't understand, they fear it. And because of their fear, they intend to get rid of it.

"My Queen." Napatigil sa pag-iisip si Lucifiene ng marinig niya ang pagtawag sakaniya ni Alaron. Nasa loob siya ng kaniyang opisina habang pinagmamasdan ang labas mula sakaniyang higanteng bintana.

"Here are the reports from the town that you wanted me to keep an eye on." Inilapag ni Alaron ang makapal na papel sa lamesa ni Lucifiene. Agad itong binasa ng Reyna at napangiti.

"Good, my people are starting to fight back." Ayon sa mga nakalap na impormasyon ni Alaron, simula nung magkagulo ang mga tao ay natuto na silang ibahin ang pagtrato sa mga nanggaling sa Forsaken Land. Ang mga slave na nabibili nila ay pinapahirapan, ang mga nagtangkang sumugod sakanilang bayan ay pinagtulungang hulihin. At matapos nilang hulihin, itinatali nila ito sa isang malaking kahoy, itinatayo at saka sinusunog.

"Are you sure everything's okay, my Queen? Do you want me to aid the peopleㅡ" Hindi na hinayaan ni Lucifiene na matapos ni Alaron ang kaniyang sasabihin, bagkus ngumiti ito sakaniya na parang walang problema.

"This is what's supposed to be." Bumuntong hininga si Lucifiene at ipinakita kay Alaron na nalulungkot siya. Ngunit hindi malaman ni Alaron kung bakit iba ito sa totoong nararamdaman ng Reyna. Iba ang kaniyang kutob. Na para bang, nasisiyahan talaga siya sa nangyayari. Hindi alam ni Alaron kung dapat ba siyang matuwa pero inalis niya na lamang sa isip niya iyon. Ang mahalaga, napapasaya niya si Lucifiene. Ang mahalaga, hindi niya hahayaan na makitang tumulo muli ang mga luha nito.

"They never really know when to give up. They won't stop until everything is gone. And it infiuriates me." Bumuntong hininga muli ang reyna bago ipinagpatuloy ang kaniyang sasabihin.

"Catch those theiving peasants and let me persecute them so that they'll know where they stand."

Agad na yumuko si Alaron bilang pag sang-ayon at walang pag dadalawang isip na isinagawa ang utos ng reyna.

Isang maaraw na hapon iyon sa lupain ng Everbleed. Nagtipon ang mga tao sa kapitolyo dahil may mahalagang anunsyo ang reyna. Nagtataka man, lahat parin sila ay pumunta doon. Pati ang mga magulang ni Alaron, at si Soleil ay nagpunta ng kapitolyo.
