Bondita learns to cook from Shubhra without getting in notice of nani maa. Nani maa was very much impressed with Bondita, her cultures and values. She was afraid when she heard from Shubhra how Anirudh and Bondita got married. But now all her doubts were getting cleared. She saw how Bondita respected her elders, how she she respected her culture.
Bondita comes out of the kitchen and sees Batuk sitting their with his hands clutching his head. He looked stressed. She went to him and said," Batuk, kya hua? Tum school kyu nhi gaye? Tum kuch pareshaan dikh rahe ho." Batuk ignores her. Bondita again calls him out," Batuk kuch baat hai tum mujhe bata sakte ho. Mai madad karungi tumhari." Batuk looks at her and speaks, "Kese vishwaas kar lu mai aapke upar? Aap ko jaanta hi kaha hu mai." Bondita thinks for a minute and says," Tum ek baar koshish toh karke dekho vishwaas karne ki. Mai tumhe niraash nhi karungi." Batuk was just 15, he was 5 years younger than Bondita. His mind warned him not to trust the girl sitting in front of him but his heart overpowered his mind.
He says," Woh mai school mai Masti Karta hua pakda gaya tha. Toh teacher mujhe saza dena chahti hai. Isliye unhone ghar ke bade ko bulaya hai. Aur kaha hai agar koi nahi aayega toh woh mujhe school se nikal denge." Bondita says," Toh isme pareshani kya hai, tum sasurji ya pati babu ko le jaao na." Batuk makes a horrified face and says," Isliye mai aapko nhi bata raha tha, kyuki aap nhi samjhengi. Mai nhi le jaa sakta unhe. Woh mujhe bohot datenge." Bondita says," Arre aree, ruko, mai kuch sochti hu." Bondita says after a while," Ek kaam karte hai, mai chalti hu tumhare school, mai tumse umar mai aur aude mai, dono mai badi hu." Batuk smiles in understanding. He then says frowning," Aap kisiko batayengi toh nhi na? Dada ko bhi nhi?" Bondita pinches her throat and says," Shotti, nhi bataungi." Batuk nods happily.
Bondita then forwards her hand and says," Chale?". Batuk holds her hand smiling and they leave after making an excuse at home. He shows his big school to Bondita. She washes her feet and removes her slippers before stepping in. He asks," Baudi, yeh kya kar rahi hai aap? Chappal kyu utar di?". She says, "Vidyalay toh shiksha ka mandir hai. Toh batao, madir mai koi chappal pehen ke jata hai?" He says," Yeh wesa mandir nhi hai, yaha sab hi joote pehente hai." She sees the kids. She wears the slippers.
Bondita got her education from her Baba at home, thus she was not aware about the culture and practices of school. Batuk guides Bondita to the principal's office. He knocks on his door and says," Sir mai apne ghar se bade ko le aya." Bondita sees some almonds scattered on the floor and bends down to get them. Principal says," Kaha hai tumhare bade, mujhe toh nhi dikh rahe?" Batuk says," Woh yahi toh thi. Kaha chali gayi?" Bondita says from below, "Mai yahi hu" Batuk asks her to get up. She gets up and sits on the chair in front of the principal. He asks, "Who are you, young lady?" She says,"I am Bondita, Batuk’s baudi, Anirudh Roy Choudhury's wife. I was actually picking up some almonds which were fallen on the floor. You know na, we should respect food." Batuk and principal were stunned on hearing her speak fluent English.
Principal says," Aapko angrezi aati hai?". Bondita says," Ha ha, bilkul aati hai." Principal nods in appreciation and says, "Good good, par mai ghar ke kisi bade aadmi se milna chahta hu, batuk ke baba ya bade bhai se". Batuk's face falls and he asks her to go back home," Baudi aap jaiye, kal dada ko hi Lana padega." She ignores Batuk and asks the principal,"Par aapko aadmi se hi kyu milna hai, ghar ki aurat se kyu nhi? Vidya ki devi toh saraswati mata hai aur woh bhi toh ek aurat hi hai. Ab aap hi bataiye ki aapke ghar par khana kon banata hai? Ghar kon sambhalta hai? Principal says," meri patni". She says, "Ha, toh agar ki ghar ki aurat ghar ko sambhal sakti hai, toh vidyalay kyu nhi aa sakti?" He says, "Kyuki ghar ke saare faisle aadmi leta hai. Aur wahi decision leta hai ki kab saza milegi aur kab nhi.". She pulls Batuk’s ear and says," Mai bhi batuk ko saza de sakti hu. Woh sunta hai meri baat. Sunte ho na batuk nahi toh tumhare dada ko bulana hoga." Batuk nods horrified.
She asks him to do sit ups. Principal asks Batuk to stop the drama. He says," Batuk yeh sab kya chal raha hai. Band karo yeh. Warna mai tumhe marunga." She asks," Kya maar khane se sudhar jayega yeh? Balki aur bigad jayega. Aap pyar se samjhaiye ise." He says," Thik hai, thik hai. Maaf kar diya maine ise. Ab agli baar se esi galti kari na batuk toh..." She says," Toh mai aa jaungi." He says horrified, "Nahi nahi, aap mat aana, mai aapke ghar aa jaunga." She says,"Ha ha, bilkul aana. Mai apke liye luchiya banaungi. Abhi abhi toh sikhi hai" She whispers the last part to herself.
He asks Batuk to go to his class. He asks her to go home, he has work, there is a function in the school. She goes, batuk signs her a thumbs up and leaves for his class giggling.
