Anirudh wakes up and murmurs Bondita's name. She hears a woman shout, "Dekhiye,Jamai Babu ko hosh aa gaya hai! Jaldi aaiye!" Anirudh sits on the bed as he feels dizzy. Somebody comes to his aid and helps him in drinking water. Anirudh, after getting stable, looks at Saurav and Sampoorna. He looks and calls out Saurav, "Tum dono yaha? Aur mai toh Heeramandi mai tha, yaha kese?" Saurav says, his voice breaking, "Unhone toh aapko mara hua samajhkar fek diya tha, woh toh bhagwaan ka shukra hai ki mai aapko dhundhte hue Heeramandi aa gaya, aur doctor se aapki marham patti karwai! Aapko dekhkar meri rooh kaanp gai thi, esa laga hamne aapko..." Anirudh says," Mar sakta tha kya Bondita ko bachaye bina? Bondita ko ghar wapis le jaana hai na!" Saurav nods.
Anirudh says," Mujhe jald se jald Bondita ko bachana hoga!" Saurav says," Haan, aap jald se jald thik ho jaiye, fir ham choti malkin ko bhi bacha lenge." Anirudh says," Ha Saurav, maine soch liya hai, iss baar gusse se nhi, balki dimaag se kaam lena hoga. Hame kuch esa sochna hoga jisse Bondita bhi mere paas ho, aur usse koi aanch bhi naa aye. Woh log soch rahe honge ki meri mrityu ho gai hai, par woh yeh nhi jaante ki Bondita ke pati babu usse bachaye bina kahi nhi jaenge!" Saurav nods and says, "Hame jald se jald ghar par bata dena chahiye ki aap surakshit hai!" Anirudh nods. He asks Saurav," Tumhe Sampoorna ko laane ki kya zaroorat thi, tum jaante ho na yeh achhi jagah nhi hai!" Saurav says," Aaj maa baba Tulsipur wapis agaye hai, mai Sampoorna ko unke saath abhi akela nhi chod sakta." Anirudh nods in understanding.
Bondita who slept in her room from crying, wakes up with a terrible headache. She then remembers the events of last night. A drop of tear escapes her eyes, Mere pati babu ko kuch nhi hua hai, mera mann kehta hai ki woh theek hai!, aur mai jaanti hu kisi na kisiko zaroor bheja hoga meri dugga maa ne pati babu ki madad karne ke liye! Mujhe neeche jaana chahiye! Bondita, instead of getting changed in clothes given by Tarabai, wears a Saree instead which was in the cupboard. It was a Red Bengali Saree. She fills her maang and puts on her shakha pola. She goes downstairs and looks at Tarabai furiously.
Tarabai says, "Yeh kese kapde pehne hai tune Noor, bhul gayi ki vidhwa hai tu, ro bhi nhi rahi. Lagta hai kaafi bada dhakka laga hai tujhe. Oo sabhi ladkiyon, rulao zara isse, bhul gayi hai yeh ki jaa chuke hai iske pati babu." Tarabai laughs evilly. Bondita says, her voice stern," Kal, mai apne ghar wapis jaungi, aap ke saamne se, aur aap kuch nhi kar paengi, yeh vaada hai mera." Tarabai says," Achha, aur kon le jayega tujhe yaha se, tere pati babu ki toh hatya ho gayi hai, mar gaye hai woh! Abb?" Bondita shouts, "Nahi mare hai mere pati babu, jaanti hu mai. Yeh ek suhagan ki mann ki pukaar hai. Aur tujh jese dushto ka vinaash toh khud dugga maa karegi, dekhlena." Tarabai goes near Bondita and slaps her hard. Bondita falls on the floor.
She shouts," Chup, bilkul chup, Suraiya, jaa ghunghroo lekar aa, pehna de isse, kuch sikha bhi dena kal ke liye!" Suraiya gives a pair to Bondita but she turns her back. She says," Nahi pehnungi mai yeh, bohot buri hai aap, aur aapki baat nhi sunungi mai!" Tarabai says," Ese kese nhi pehnegi tu? Ruk tujhe abhi sazaa deti hu! Nhi nhi, tujhe nhi, teri pyari Rasiya didi ko sazaa deti hu." Tarabai's man holds Rasiya, she forwards a razor to her and says," Bohot pyaar hai na tujhe apne lambe baalon se, tere baal agar mai kaat du toh?" Rasiya warns her," Iske baare mai sochna bhi mat!" Tarabai says," Ha ha, mai keval sochti hi nhi, balki karke dikhati hu!" Tarabai forwards the razor, and to defend herself Rasiya wiggles, due to which the razor injures her forearm.
