Bondita was in Anirudh's study talking to him about her three month intership program arranged by her college. All the students were to be divided in a group of two and posted in different law firms in and around Tulsipur, for which a stipend would be paid to them.
All the students were asked to give their recommendations on which firm they wanted to work in. After which the professors would put them in the firm, they find most appropriate.
Bondita had put forward Anirudh's firm and hoped for positive results. She had been to his office a few times and was familiar with the work culture and other employees.
They both were in study when the bell for the main gate rang. Bondita excuses herself to look, but groans in frustration looking at the man standing at her gate.
"Jim, what are you doing here?" Says an annoyed Bondita. "Is this the way you greet your guests?" Asks Jim cockily looking around the house from the door.
"So what do you expect? You cannot just show up at my home like this!" Says Bondita folding her hands closer to her chest.
"Why not? You are my friend!" Says Jim with a hurt expression. Anirudh comes out listening to the commotion and Bondita rolls her eyes annoyed.
She takes a deep breath and says, " Jim, you know Pam does not like you being anywhere near me."
Jim scoffs and says, "Why should Pam's reaction come in our way of friendship. Who is she to decide whether I want to be friends with someone or not?"
Before Bondita could say anything, Anirudh comes forward and says smiling, "Indeed, he is right Bondita! Nobody else has the right to decide who you decide to talk to, or who you decide to be friends with."
He then turns to Jim and says, "Hi! I am Anirudh Roy Choudhury, Bondita's husband."
Jim looks at him amazed and says shaking his hand, "Wow! Never heard a man ever introduce himself from a female's identity. Well, I am Jim, Bondita's friend, or you may say, an acquaintance."
Anirudh gets him in the home as Bondita asks him annoyed, "What are you here for Jim?"
Anirudh looks at Bondita with a slight glare as Jim says shuffling in his bag, giving a her a set of papers, "Here, this is the firm you and me are paired in."
"What? I am paired with you? When I thought things couldn't be worse, then this happens!" Says Bondita whining.
Anirudh interupts and says, "Bondita! Jim, let me see where you guys are posted."
Anirudh goes through the letter as Bondita gets coffee for the duo. Anirudh exclaims, "Wow! This is a well known law firm of Tulsipur, I know Mr. Chatterjee over there. Great you guys!"
Bondita snatches the paper from him and says, "What? I am not posted in your firm? I had put forward your firm's name in my recommendation list."
"Only a few students have been posted in the firm's from their recommendation list." Says Jim making Bondita groan in annoyance.
