Rioters beat their sticks on the shutter of the shop. Bondita shudders in fear as she hears them. Bondita hugs the kids closer as they start crying listening to the huge sounds. All the men shift heavy items in front of shutter to prevent it from opening. The kids says," Didi woh log toh bahaar aa gaye hai, kya ham yeh khel haar jaenge?" Bondita cups her face and says," Nhi bachha, aap daro mat! Maine aapko kaha tha na, yeh khel ham hi jeetenge! Achha mujhe aapka Naam toh batao". The girl whispers, "Anandita!" Bondita remembers her neigbour's kid and hugs her closer.
The rioters throw kerosene inside. Bondita says to them," Hame yaha se nikalna hoga, warna yeh hame jala denge!" The man says," Yaha se nikalne ka ek hi raasta hai, uspar yeh log khade hai!" Bondita worries as they try opening the shutter.
The kid asks, "Didi ham haar gaye kya?" Bondita says," Nahi gudiya, ham nahi haarenge, kyuki achhai ki hamesha jeeet hoti hai!" Rioters break open the door. Bondita stands with the crowd. One of the rioter with a sword moves closer to them. He was about to attack one of the kid when Bondita holds the sword in her hand. Her hand bleeds as the sharp edge creates a wound on her hand. She pulls the sword in her hands. She remembers how Anirudh taught her the sword fighting tactics. She takes a deep breath and attacks one of the men. They try to attack Bondita. Bondita shouts while fighting," Aaj mai aap sab ke liye lad rahi hu. Par ab samay hai ham sab apne liye lade. Iss desh mai rehne ka hak sabko hai." Everybody picks up something to fight for themselves.
Anirudh who just reached Bondita's house in Kolkata, looks at the locked door. He was moving out when Mrs. Chaterjee spots him. She says," Aap Anirudh hai, Bondita ke pati?" Anirudh runs to her and says," Ha- Ha, mai hu Bondita ka pati! Aap mili hai Bondita se!" Mrs. chatterjee chuckles and says," Ha, Ha, rukiye Jamai Babu, kitni jaldi hai aapko apni patni se milne ki, woh bade bazaar gayi hai, aati hogi, tab tak aap hamare ghar aa jaiye!"
Anirudh goes in her house and she offers him tea. He was having tea when Mrs.Chaterjee turned on the radio. They heard that all the people of Kolkata are advised to stay home due to the breakout of communal riots in Bada Bazaar. They further told that they had some internal information that some people are stuck inside and hiding. Also the problem has increased 10 folds as British Police has decided to intervene and they are mercilessly shooting people their. The cup slips from Anirudh's hand and he runs out.
He reaches Bada Bazaar and finds it all sealed. He says to the police officer," Sir, meri patni andar hai, mujhe andar jaana hai, kholiye yeh" The police says," Janaab aap andar nhi jaa sakte hai, police apna kaam kar rahi hai, aapki patni bhi aa jaaegi bahaar." Anirudh tries to argue but the officer denies him. Anirudh then sneaks in from a side and runs inside. He hides and runs, trying to find Bondita. He sees a lot of rioters coming near him and he hides behind a cart.
Somebody pulls him in a corner, due to which his wallet falls. He looks at the man who pulled him and the small girl, Anandita who was with him. The rioters pass by and the small girl picks his wallet. She sees Bondita's pic and gasps, she says," Baba dekho didi ki tasveer!" Anirudh stops in his tracks and bends down in front of Anandita. He asks," Aap jaante ho inhe? " She nods and says," Inhi didi ki wajah se ham jeete the na khel!" Anirudh asks the man," Aap jaante hai isse, yeh meri patni hai Bondita!" The man says," Jii, woh uss dukaan ke andar thi hamare saath! Fir kuch log andar ghus aaye, ham sab unse lade aur bachne ke liye bhaage, aur iske karan ab ham sab alag ho gaye!" Anirudh runs into the shop and tries finding Bondita, but to no avail. He runs out and shouts Bondita's name.
