Hey Dugga Maa, itni der ho gayi, jaane ke liye koi sadhan bhi nhi mil raha, wapis chali jaau kya pati babu ke paas? Nhi nhi, pagal hai kya tu Bondita, abhi kya hua yaad nhi hai, sirf itna sochne mai hi sharm aa rahi hai, unke saamne jaaungi toh naa jane kya hoga?! Bondita thinks.
After some time, she spots a horsecart and sits on it. On the way, the wheel gets stuck in the mud. Bondita steps down, and the driver looks on. Bondita says, "Dada kitni der lagegi? Shaam dhalne ko aayi hai, mujhe nikle hue bhi aadhe peher se zyada ho gaya hai, ghar par sab chinta kar rahe honge!" The driver says, "Kuch keh nhi sakte, mitti katthi hai, samay bhi lag sakta hai!" Bondita nods seeing no way out. They were passing from near the river bank and the wheel got stuck and at this time, rarely any vehicle passed from there.
Bondita walks around after informing the driver. She was walking around when her eyes fall on something, rather someone.
Anirudh returns back home from a tiring day. He was yearning for a look of his wife which can take all his worries and tiredness away. He enters the house to see the whole family tensed. Shubhra rushes to him and says," Bondita kaha hai?" Anirudh says shocked," Bondita abhi tak ghar nhi aai..." Trilochan says, "Kya, Bahu tumhare saath nhi thi?" Anirudh shakes his head in no and says, "Nahi kaka, Bondita toh 2-3 ghante pehle hi nikal gai thi, maine usse kaha tha ki ruk jaao, par usne suna hi nhi!" Trilochan says worried," Hame laga ki woh aai nhi toh tumhare saath ruk gai hogi!"
Binoy, who was deeply influenced by Saudamini and her baba, says," Jaane kya natak hai yeh ab iss ladki ka? Jabse iss ghar mai aai hai, tabse hamne ek chain ki saans bhi nhi li!" Anirudh glares at him and was about to revert, when Trilochan holds his hand and shakes his head in no. Trilochan says," Binoy, agar tumhe bahu ki chinta hi nhi hai, toh tum jaa sakte ho apne kamre mai." Binoy leaves fuming and Anirudh stumbles at his place. Saurav who was standing with all of them holds him, Anirudh says, "Jaane kaha hogi meri Bondita, Tulsipur mai bohot kam logo ko jaanti hai, raaste bhi nhi pata usse!" Shubhra says patting his head, her own eyes teary," Anirudh tum chinta mat karo, Bondita thik hogi, bohot samajhdaar bachhi hai woh!"
Anirudh runs outside to find her and Saurav accompanies him, they look around in the village but return back dejected. They go to the British Police Station to file a report, but the officer refuses to file complaint until the missing doesn't complete 24 hours.
He says," Mai yeh complaint toh darz nhi kar sakta. Par mera maan na hai ki aap na dhunde apni patni ko, nhi aayegi woh wapis. Aapki baatein sunkar esa lagta hai khud apne mann se bhagi hai woh! Wese bhi aap dono ki shaadi ka sach chupa kaha hai gaav walo se, hoga koi uska purana aashiq jiske saath bhag gayi hogi!" As soon as these words leave the officers mouth, he feels a sting on his face, and looks at Anirudh holding him by his collars. These words enraged Anirudh, he pulled him by his collars and punched him straight on his face.
