The villagers leave after some time of troubling Bondita. She was still tied up, her tears were not stopping today. Maa Baba, aap kaha hai? Mujhe aaj aapki kami ka bohot ehsaas ho raha hai. Shayad aap yaha aaj hote toh mere saath esa nhi hota. Kya karu mai, kuch samajh nhi aata! Bondita thinks.
Bondita's mama was coming from his farm in the evening when he sees Bondita tied up on the pole, covered with dirt. He could imagine what would have happened with her! He goes to her and opens her up. Bondita without even speaking a single word leaves from there. His mama tries to ask her what happened, but she just walks away without responding.
They reach home and Bondita comes in the hut after cleaning herself up. Bondita's mami comes in annoyed. She says," Dekh lijiye ji kya karna hai, Bondita ke karan hamara kiraane wala hame samaan dene ke liye taiyaar nhi hai, kehta hai hamne chodi hui aurat ko sahara diya hai, joki galat hai." Bondita looks down with tears glistening her eyes.
Next day, in afternoon, Bondita, his mama and mami rush outside the hut and sees their neighbour Mrs. Banerjee making chaos. She was crying loudly and cursing Bondita. She sees Bondita and pulls her out harshly by her arm and says," Yeh sab iss ladki ki wajah se hua hai! Iss ladki kaa saya jese hi ham par pada wese hi hamare khet mai keedo ka hamla ho gaya hai! Pura khet kharab ho gaya hai! Saari fasal ujad gayi hai! Hamari saal bhar ki mehnat ek chutki mai kharab ho gai hai!"
Bondita looks and pulls her arm out. She had enough of this nonsense! She shouts," Bas, bas bohot hua! Yeh kya laga rakha hai aap sab ne, chodi hui aurat, bura saya? Mere pati babu ne mujhe choda ya na choda ho, isse aapko kya fark padta hai! Aur agar choda bhi hota toh aapko kisne itna hak diya ki aap mujhe iss tarah se pareshaan kare! Kisne kaha hai ki chodi hui aurat shraap hoti hai, agar maine apne pati ko choda hota toh kya ye sab unke saath bhi yahi vyavahar karte? Nhi Na? Fir kyu, yeh bhed bhaav kyu? Kya woh insaan nhi hai? Kyu unke liye sabhi niyam alag hai?"
The villagers say," Ek toh iske pati ne isse chod diya hai, fir bhi dekho toh zara iski zabaan kese kenchi ki tarah chalti hai! Sen Babu (Bondita's Mama), agar kal tak yeh ladki iss gaav se dur nhi chali gayi toh hum aapka aur apke parivaar ka bahishkar kar denge! Aapka khana paani band ho jaega! Yaad rakhiyega!" The villagers disperse as Bondita looks at them leaving with tear filled eyes.
Bondita enters the hut when her mami sits on the floor and join hands in front of her and says with crocodile tears, "Bondita, ab toh chali jaa yaha se. Dekh tere mama ne kese itne saalo mai tinka tinka kar ke yeh ghar banaya hai, agar tu yaha rahegi toh yeh bhi ujad jaega. Wese bhi hamare paas kuch zyada hai nhi, joh hai woh toh baksh de! Chali jaa hame chodkar! Chali jaa" Bondita looks on shocked. Mama pulls mami up, as Bondita leaves the hut and goes in the backyard.
Mama says to mami," Yeh kya kar rahi ho tum? Tumhe nhi pata kya ki Bondita ki yeh halat hamare aur hamari beti ke karaan ho rahi hai. Kese tum usse jaane ke liye keh sakti ho!" Mami jerks his hand and says," Tum toh chup hi raho. Suna nhi gaav walo ne kya kaha? Dana pani band ho jaega, kaha jaaenge hum, kya karenge!" Mami leaves.
