The plot thickens

"IT'S EATING OUR LASERS??"

Lance screamed as another ray of bright blue came his way. Anguished yells sounded whilst a furious battle of paladin vs cube began to become more intense with every second.

Even formed into Voltron, it was a struggle against the seemingly indestructible cubes. Weirdly, it was interesting how the Olkari could create such intricate weapons of mass destruction.

Currently, Voltrons broadsword had been drawn in an attempt to stab through the cube.

With a dedicated swish, the sword hacked the cube into two pieces, those two powered down "It's working!" Pidge exclaimed.

Her comment was said all too soon, dread loomed in the air as well as surprised gasps. The cubes began to power up again and push through the onslaught of attacks.

"It's still operational, re-engage!" Shiro yelled.

The attack was repeated for a second time and a third.

Now, the once whole cube had been sliced into four pieces. Y/N blinked in disbelief, how the fuck?

"Let's try again!" Shiro yelled.

"WHAT THE FUCK?! You just saw what happened and you want to try again?" Y/N screamed, "How about not doing that and actually thinking?"

Shiro furrowed his brows (not very pleased with the harsh comment). "What about- Disengage! Split up!".

Voltron disengaged and flew in different directions, lasers wouldn't work and the broad sword only produced even faster cubes.

"There doesn't seem to be any way to stop them, but we can't let this weapon get into Zarkon's hands!" Shiro commanded, earing steady nods from the fleeing paladins.

"Trying to destroy it from the surface doesn't work, how about flying inside and trying from the inside out!"

Keith didn't seem to agree with the proposal "How are we gonna get inside?"

"Oh, right".

With the idea shot down, Y/N looked at the outside scenery, only to see the green lion plummeting to the ground.

"PIDGE!"

The red paladin turned sharply before his own eyes widened, a shout left his lips before the lion was forced to turn sharply to avoid a laser coming their way.

"Pidge, Pidge! Can you hear me. Shit, this isn't good". Y/N spoke, leg bouncing rapidly.

"Can't you go down there and help her?"

Keith grunted, "I could try, but that leaves more opportunities for the paladins to get hurt".

"Oh, right".

Y/N bit her lip, with the green lion down the paladins would struggle with the absence of forming Voltron (not that it had worked before). 

Perhaps, using the crystal would help? Of course, she didn't know exactly how it worked or what she could do, but it would be better than doing nothing.

Then again, what would she even do? Impulsively using a magical device that she could barely use could backfire horribly. So instead, Y/N tightened her fists and watched the ground attentively for any movement from the green lion.

"Pidge, we need you!" Shiro barked, the black lion twisting and turning to avoid the death cubes. 

For a couple of seconds, there was no answer. 

Until the green lion rose from the ground in all its glory. 

"Pidge!" 

A green laser spewed from the lion's mouth, only to be absorbed by the death cube. Y/N held her breath as the cube seemed ready to vaporise the lions.
