"How is Ryner?  I've not seen her in ages."

Y/N folded her arms from her seat on the floor, "We just left, she's ok. But she seems to know a lot about you".

Corintha blinked before almost paling "How so?"

"Well apparently, you've helped build Olkarion, the crystal is yours and you went rouge or something".

The older woman shrugged "before the whole Zarkon thing, Ryner was acquainted with our parents during the building of Olkarion, I helped the civilisation and protection basically".

"What about the swearing allegiance to Zarkon".

Corintha froze "What?", piecing together whatever Ryner had told Y/N was becoming increasingly difficult.

"Apparently you did and went rogue and destroyed entire cities and planets for Haggar and shit".

E/C eyes looked up at Corintha "Did you actually do that?".

Deep down, Y/N hoped that maybe Corintha hadn't sworn her allegiance to Zarkon. Perhaps it had all been some big rumour that had spiralled out of control.

Silence reigned in the room, the hologram buzzed quietly as Corintha seemed silent. "It's complicated".

Her stomach dropped.

"What do you mean 'it's complicated'? Just say yes or no". The reply sounded pleading, paired with the panicked look in Y/N's eyes.

"I did swear allegiance to Zarkon, I did commit acts of wrath but I know it was under Haggar. I can't prove it exactly but she had something to do with it".

The woman's gaze flickered to Y/N, the floor, then back to Y/N. "And now nobody believes me".

"Oh, wow".

Like clockwork, corintha's demeanour shifted. The timidness in her eyes was replaced with confusion once again "But, how on Altea did Ryner find out about the crystal?".

Almost immediately after, the hydraulic hiss of Y/N's door sounded.

"I was looking everywhere-"

Keith cut himself off to stare at Y/N, to Corintha, then back at Y/N.

"So, is that Corintha?"

Sheepishly, Y/N nodded and motioned him to sit by her (a notion that he welcomed openly).

The two were now sitting side by side, staring up at the holographic woman with wide eyes (to which Corintha cleared her throat).

"So, you're Keith".

Violet eyes blinked "Yeah, how do you know?" Keith reached for his bayard cautiously before glaring stonily.

Y/N pulled at his arm sharply "I told her. She's not a threat, I promise". Her eyes watched his tensed posture relax noticeably, the red paladin sighed grumpily and turned towardsCorintha (still suspicious).

"As I was saying" Corintha continued, eyes falling on Keith before darting to Y/N's curious face "I have some idea where these lies are coming from but-"

"Paladins, Zarkon is attacking! To the bridge, immediately!"

"For fucks sake"

Y/N turned to Keith "You can go, I'm staying"

The paladin was already on his feet "Are you sure? Allura's gonna be really suspicious".

An exasperated groan left her lips "Let her be, I need to find out more". Their eyes locked steadily, eye contact piercing.

"All paladins to their stations!"

And with that, Keith flashed an apologetic look before speeding off begrudgingly, bayard in hand.

Y/N sat there for a second, maybe she could have gone with Keith. After all, the princess could have thrown Y/N off the ship at any time (not that she would go without a fight).

Blaring sounded as shooting and shouts from the paladins and Allura grew to a crescendo. Even if she did go, what would she do? It was better to stay and do something, anything.

A sharp, short breath left her lips as she turned to Corintha.

"Can you teach me how to use the crystal?"

Sorry for the late update, I've been procrastinating and doing other writing things for future stories.
