Katherine's P.O.V.
When we walked through the hidden door inside the cave, we saw Niran waiting for us on the other side. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when he headed in the opposite direction of my room. As if he could sense my confusion, Niran turned his head towards me and smiled softly.
"We're going to my office. Evanora is waiting for us there." He explained.
Oh.
After a few turns we stopped in front of a door. Niran opened it and a grinning Evanora greeted us.
"You're finally here!" She exclaimed excitedly. "I always wanted to meet the legendary Lombardis." She added with a big grin.
Tharion and Draco just glared at her and moved closer to me. Niran sat behind his desk and looked at Evanora.
"Explain." He said and for the next few minutes Evanora proceeded to explain everything that had happened.
...
"I still can't believe it." Draco said in astonishment. "How did we never notice the resemblance? It was so obvious." He added.
"There's a reason why people say love is blind." Evanora teased, earning glares from my mates.
"Since everything's cleared up, leave. You've been here long enough." Niran said with an expressionless face, not even looking at us.
Tharion and Draco exchanged looks and stood up.
"Let's go." Tharion said and grabbed my hand.
They're just going to leave like this?
I looked between my mates and Niran worriedly. I know it probably wasn't my place, but I had to do something. I can't let this quarrel go on.
"Hold on." I said and pulled Tharion's hand so he'd stop walking.
Both my mates looked at me in confusion.
"What is it Katie?" Draco asked.
"I think you three should have a long talk and make up." I said, looking between them and Niran. "This has been going on for too long and it's clearly reflecting badly on all three of you." I added.
"There's nothing to talk about." Niran mumbled, still refusing to look at Tharion and Draco.
"Yes there is!" I protested. "Do you think Alina would like to see you three like this?" I asked softly.
I probably shouldn't have used the Alina card, but I saw how happy they were around each other in Alina's memories. I wanted them to have that kind of relationship again.
I saw guilt flash in Niran's eyes when he looked at me for a second. I looked at my mates and although they showed no emotions on their faces, I know they wanted to have their friend back. All three of them were just being stubborn at this point.
"Why don't you-"
The door of Niran's office opened loudly, interrupting me. The culprit was a very disheveled Blaze.
"We need to go home a.s.a.p!" He said frantically.
"What's wrong?" Draco asked, immediately looking alert.
"It's Lyla." He said, making my nerves spike up. "She's in labour."
"What?!" I yelled in surprise.
"The messenger said she went in labour a few hours after we left." He explained hurriedly. "We need to leave now."
