...

Katherine's P.O.V.

"Okay. That should do it. We'll meet here tomorrow, early in the morning, to prepare everything and when the sun goes down it's go time." Lyla explained as I nodded my head.

"That's a wrap then. Now if you'll excuse me, your brother's nagging me to bring his precious princess to him, so I'll be leaving first." Kayda said and took a sleeping Scylla from my lap. "See ya girls tomorrow." She added and blew us a kiss before leaving.

"I think you should sleep somewhere else tonight." Lyla said and stood up.

"Why?" I asked in confusion.

"You know. To get them in the mood. I managed to convince Blaze to keep them occupied tomorrow without telling him what you're going to be doing, so those two will probably go crazy a little bit from not seeing you the entire day." She answered with a mischievous smile.

"And that's why you're my best friend." I said and hugged her.

"Now that I think about it, you should sleep here. No one except us three knows about this room, so it's perfect. And they won't be able to track your scent because everyone is constantly walking all over the lair and scents get mixed up." She suggested.

That made me think about how Tharion and Draco avoided sleeping with me in the same bed because I refused to give in. Obviously, I knew it was because they couldn't trust themselves around me while we're sleeping, so with me sleeping here it should be a bit easier for them.

"That's a perfect idea Ly." I said excitedly.

"Then I'll leave you to prepare the couch and we'll see you early in the morning." She said and slowly headed toward the door.

"Aye, aye captain." I said and saluted her.

She chuckled and waved at me before leaving. I moved the catalogs and magazines from the couch and laid down. Luckily, there was a blanket here so I wrapped it around me and snuggled on the couch. But I couldn't fall asleep.

Why am I so nervous? Come on Kate. Relax. You'll regret it if you don't sleep now. Come on. You can do it. Come on. Sleep.

Sleep didn't come that easily, but I guess I slowly dozed off some time during the night.

...

I heard a door opening, but I ignored it and continued to sleep. And then I felt something land on my head, followed by a tiny growl. I opened one eye and saw Scylla's excited face.

Cutie~

"Rise and shine Kate. It's D-day. You need to get ready." I heard Kayda's voice.

Then I heard more shuffling and a lot of loud steps.

"Kate, get the fuck up! Blaze is barely managing to keep Tharion and Draco occupied. You need to get ready a.s.a.p." Lyla said in a hurry.

Then I felt someone pulling me up, making me grumble in annoyance.

"Don't you grumble at me. We don't have time. We have to get you ready and in your room now." Lyla said sternly and pulled me up to stand.

"But I thought it's go time when the sun goes down..." I mumbled and yawned.

"Well, our idea of you sleeping here backfired. They are in a frenzy because you didn't show up to your room last night. Tharion waited all night inside the room in case you came back, and Draco was searching for you all over the place. I'm surprised he still didn't manage to find you. So get your fine ass moving. We don't have time." She explained and that made me wide awake.
