-Brianna's POV-
I could feel my heart racing, my breathing hard. All I was thinking now was to remain silent and not give in. I could hear his footsteps walk closer to me, making me more nervous.
"What are you doing out here?" he asked, but I kept my mouth shut. He sighed. "Still ignoring me? I just want to know what you're doing out here." I'm out here because of that stupid song, but I won't say that. "Did you like our new song?" he asked. Was he trying to get to me? Taunt me? Because that makes me want to ignore him even more. I could tell he was pretty close now, pretty much right behind me. "I know you ran out towards the end, but I know you heard most of it." I bit my lip, feeling a lump in my throat. "Brie?" I covered my face, feeling frustrated, emotions just swirling around. I felt Luke put his hand on my shoulder and ask, "Brie, what's wrong?"
I turned, pushing his hand off of me. I had to restrain myself from yelling at him. He knows what he's doing and saying. he knows how risky that song is, but he wrote, shared, and performed it anyway.
Luke chuckled, shaking his head. "You know what? I'm done playing this little game of yours! I get why you're ignoring me, but it's been a week and you still won't speak to me! I've tried to get you to talk to me, yell at me, annoy me, anything! Even when I'm trying to help you, you ignore me!" he shouted in frustration. "Why do you have to be so stubborn? Or at this point, rude?"
"I'm rude?! Do you not remember you're the one who cause this?!" I blurted out, finding it ridiculous that he found me rude when he started everything.
"I'm sorry, okay? What else am I supposed to do? What do you want from me?"
"Maybe respect?" I suggested, my arms crossed.
"I'm trying, okay? I just want you to let me back into your life!" he yelled at me.
"You're trying to get me to talk to you again, not trying to give me respect!" I pointed out, knowing there was a big difference. "And have you thought that maybe I don't want you back in my life?" I raised my eyebrows. It wasn't true...even if I wanted it to be.
Luke's face softened. "You don't want me in your life?" he asked softly, making me feel bad for saying it now. I just looked down, not knowing how to respond. "Because I want you in my life...why do you think I've done all these stupid things to get you to talk? I fi I idn't want you in my life, I wouldn't have done anything about you ignoring me, I wouldn't have care so much."
"I thought you were embarrassed to be seen with me? I can't allow someone into my life who's embarrassed of me being in theirs," I reminded him, looking up now.
"I get that, and I've thought about it. I realize now that I'd rather be seen with you than not have you at all. And if people judge, then I don't care!" he explained, throwing his arms up.
"I shouldn't have to ignore you to get you to realize that," I snapped.
"Well...you're talking again!" Luke gave a sheepish smile, but I shook my head. "Brie, please! I...I don't want to ruin what was happening between us." He stepped closer to me, making my heart pick up speed. Why does he do that?
"I don't know what you're talking about..."
"Look, I've thought about this for a while now. I can't stop thinking about you and...the possibilities. Why do you think we had that thing? We both want it. I-I want to be with you."
