-Luke's POV-

Just as said, I arrived at the Clifford's house to meet with Brie for this poem thing.  Hopefully we'd finish it today and never get assigned something like this again.

After Michael let me in, I walked up to Brie's room and knocked before opening the door she.  She look up from her laptop and gave a small smile as I walked in, shutting the door behind me.

"Ready to work?" she asked, taking her laptop off of her lap and closing it.

"It's 10 am, what do you think?" I snapped at her, sitting on her bed as she got up to get her notebook and pencil.  She sat in her chair like she always does before responding.

"It's not that early, Luke," she said, getting comfy in her chair.

"Let's just get this over with," I sighed.

"Okay, so I was thinking about this poem, and I thought it could kind of be like a young romance kind of thing.  Nothing too serious, just puppy love," she explained.

I groaned.  Of course a girly girl like her would think of something like that.  "I thought we said no mushy-gushy crap?"  I reminded her of when we first discussed it.

"It won't be!  It will just be a cute little love song!"

"Luke Hemmings doesn't do cute." I raised an eyebrow.  Did she honestly think I would go along with this?

Brie rolled her eyes.  "It's just a poem, Luke!  And who refers to themselves in third person?"

"Luke does!  Why do you have to judge the way I'm talking?  That's not even on topic!"

"You talking about it is off topic!" she pointed out.  We both kept quiet, knowing where this was heading.  She took a deep breath before speaking again.  "Look, we don't want this to go the way the other poem went.  We had to have an extra day because we wouldn't just write together."

"All I'm asking is for a little more edge!  The whole young romance thing could work, but we need to make it more like a realistic young couple, not fucking puppy love!"  I told her as calmly as I could.

        "Then what do you suggest?"

I bit my lip, looking down as I thought.  What's romantic but not girly?  Something with edge?  "How about...a getaway kind of thing?  Just the two people wanting time alone?" I suggested, finding it the only idea that didn't make me want to throw up.

Brie slowly nodded, writing it down.  "Okay, how should we start it?"

"It could start with...can I call...wake you up on a...Sunday..." I trailed off, thinking about it.  I noticed Brianna write them down, knowing she agreed with them.  "Late night, I think we need to get away," I added simply, thinking of the idea.

She furrowed her eyebrows.  "How is it one minute you're waking them up, then the next it's late night?" she asked, confused with the words.

"Not everyone wakes up at 8:00 am," I told her, reminding her I hated being here so early.  "Besides, it just...sounds good.  I have things going through my head, and this is what comes out."

"What do you mean you have things going through your head?"

"Whenever we write songs, I have a tune that I match lyrics up with in my head.  That's how I write our songs, and the last poem," I explained.  It sounded complicated, but it works for me.
