Gazing at the passing trees, I rest my forehead on the window as the pacing setting sun slowly descends down and creates a luminous shades of blue in the sky. The speed of the car blurs out everything out, and it gives me a slight nauseousness in my head, but I ignore it.

My eyes avert to the gripping hand of Daniel's which was on the steering wheel. His eyes were fully focused on the road, and his expression was neutral. No emotions or life in them.

Looking at him gave me flashbacks to when we first met.

I was still waiting, when I opened my eyes. There was a guy in front of me. The knife stopped in his hands, the girl anger kept on flaring how she kept on squirming the knife in his hands.

He didn't make a sound. For all I knew he was my savior.

Saviour.

The side of my lips twitched a smile. From all this time I have known Daniel, he has done nothing but help me, stood by me, and did things no other person could do.

"I know I'm irresistable Ariella, but do you mind?" His voice brought me back from my thoughts.

"Let's not be too cocky, now." I smirked.

And for once, he brought out his genuine smile.

Out of the sudden my phone began to vibrate constantly. I fished it out of my jean pocket and answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Ariella." Logan charismatically said.

"Gee, you finally understand the concept of cellular phones. Thanks God!" I joked.

I heard a annoyed sigh on the other line, and I couldn't help but smile. I liked us like this. The feeling of me just being playful and natural with him.

"What are you doing? I tried calling Cole, he wasn't answering." He curiously asked.

My brain went through series of lies I could tell Logan right now. Now I know it's not right to lie to the person you're gonna spend the rest of your life with ( oh my god, I just realized that ), but what am I supposed to do? Tell him I was in a car. With Daniel.

No.

"We're actually going for a movie. Yeah, and Cole is not answering because he's one of those weirdos who take the rule of having your cell phones off during the movies very seriously." I lied.

"Well, I'll leave you to it Ariella." His adoring voice said.

"Okay, bye." I said. There was this weird feeling that went along in my heart. It was feeling restless. I tried to ignore it as I was waiting for Logan to bid his goodbye.

"I love you so much. Above everything else." He momentarily said. I was about to say something when I heard a muffled voice on the other line.

"I have to go now Ariella. Take care." Logan said.

"Logan, wait-" I jumped, but there was no point, the line ended.

I threw the phone on my lap and sighed. Why couldn't I say it back? Why was I being so.....quiet?

"Trouble in paradise?" Daniel said in stiff gesture.

More like trouble in all depths of life.
