Therapy (September 24th) (Allie's Perspective)
"Your Mom told me that your father went away for work. That he's going to be gone for a while." Dr. Karev said. Mom and I are leaving for Grand Cayman tomorrow, so I was having my session today.
"Do you have any feelings about it?"

"I hate you! I wish you'd go away!" I hit my Dad and scratched him angrily.
"Don't touch me! I wish you'd leave here!" I cried. I pushed him hard and he used one of those awful therapeutic restraints.
"I....hate...you!" I said tiredly.
"I'm not going away."

"Allie?"
"Sorry." I got up and started pacing around the room. Dr.Karev tilted her head.
"You've never done that before.." I began pacing faster.
"What's the matter, Allie?" Then came the hyperventilating.
"Hey, Allie, why don't you have a glass of water? It'll calm your nerves."

"Have a glass of water." My 8-year-old self took a big gulp.
"There you go, now deep breaths." I coughed because of the sheer amount of water I'd drank.
"You're okay, Daddy's got you. He always has. He always will. I'll never leave your side, I promise."

"I'll pour you some." Dr. Karev sat closer to me.
"I don't think I can talk about that right now. I'm sorry. I'm not being honest. I have a bit of a complicated relationship with him."
"What do you mean? You're being honest by admitting that it's too much to delve into right now. That's commendable, Allison."

JFK International Airport (September 25th, 7:45 AM) (Mariska's Perspective)
"Are you excited?"
"Yeah, I've never been to Grand Cayman before. Have you?"
"No, this is a first for me too, ladybug." She giggled.
"First time, in a brand new place, together. Have you done some research?"
"Mhm! There's a shipwreck, could we go to it?"
"Of course, we can do anything, Allie."
"Really?" She smiled happily. I love spending quality one-on-one time with each of my kiddos. Seeing the smile on their faces when they get that special attention just makes my heart happy.
"Mama, is there anything that you want to do?" Allie asked sweetly.
"I want to do anything that you want to do, but a mani-pedi with my ladybug wouldn't hurt alongside something else..."
"I'd love a mani-pedi with you! What else?!" I laughed.
"Mama, just tell me! I hate surprises!"
"No you don't, you love them. Just wait and see, you'll love it."
"I guess..."
"Flight 556 to Grand Cayman is now boarding."
"I guess it's time for us to line up." Allie nodded happily and started grabbing our luggage. This is going to be a good trip. I can feel it.

The Plane
"Wake up, Allie! We're here!" She stretched.
"Huh?"
"We made it."
"Awesome." We stepped off of the plane and felt the cool Caribbean breeze.
"I'm so in love with this place and we just got here!" We whizzed our way through immigration and got a ride to the Ritz Carlton out here in Grand Cayman.
"Happy, Happy birthday to Allie!" The staff sang as we arrived. We were given some yummy drinks and gummy worms. Allie looked shy but I could tell that she liked it.
"Thank you..." She said with a smile.
"Oh, this room is amazing."
"The view's pretty!"
"So...it's 11 AM. What are we doing?"

"Hmmm, something about the beach just hits different

"Hmmm, something about the beach just hits different."
"Really? We go to the beach all of the time."
"Yeah, but it'll always be fun."
"Alright, let me go change." I said as Allie went out to the terrace. She was talking on the phone with someone. I hope she's talking to Peter. Maybe I should talk to her about him.

The Beach (Allie's Perspective)
"Allison, you made us come down here." Mama joked.
"I'm just trying to get my tan in."
"You are such a teenager!"
"Yeah...because I am one. Remember?" I joked.
"You can tan for five more minutes, but then you're coming in the water with my young lady. You know the best way to get a tan is by having some fun."
"But I am having fun, Mom. I'm talking to you."
"You're funny. Allie, how are you and Joshua doing? I realized that you don't talk about him much."
"We're fine. It's a good thing that I don't bring him up much. It means that everything's okay."
"Most girls tell their mothers regardless, you know."
"Most girls don't have Mariska Hargitay as their mother, you know." I refuted.
"What's that supposed to mean?"  I put down my magazine and took a long sip of my Shirley temple before heading towards the water.
"Allie, come back here."
"Allie."
"You said that you wanted to swim."
"I do, but I'd like to talk about what you just said to me first. If something is bugging you about our relationship you can convey it to me without being shady."
"I'm not being shady."
"You're not? Really?"
"I'm just telling the truth. You're not like most mothers, Mom. That's all." I rolled my eyes and went into the water. Why does she have to annoy me already? It hasn't even been a full day.
"In what way?" Mom asked by moving her hair out of her face.
"I don't really wanna have this conversation with you anymore. You're just gonna get angry at me. Just stop pushing everything. I hate that about you." I told her honestly.

Riverside Drive (Manhattan) (Andrew's Perspective)
"So, what do you do after school?" I asked Charlotte.
"Well, I dance on Tuesday's and Thursday's. So I go straight there after school most of the time."
"What about the rest of the week?"
"I just chill." She said shyly.
"You?"
"I can't really do sports."
"Why? Too scared to lose?" I laughed.
"No..."
"Then why?" She asked.
"Promise you won't tell anybody?"
"You've got my word." We pinkie swore.
"I was born premature, so...I have some health conditions. Mainly to do with my lungs and heart and stuff. Like for one I got asthma... That's why I can't play sports."
"Ohh, I'm sorry. Do you ever want to play?"
"Yeah, I mean my brother is this big basketball and tennis guy, and my parents always get super happy when they see him play...I don't get that kind of attention. I'm just really good at legos."
"There's nothing wrong with that. I think you're super cool. If I ever need help with legos, I'll call you." Charlotte said with a smile.
"Thanks."
"Maybe there's something you can do that involves building..and coding and stuff. Then, your parents will cheer you on too."
"Maybe. I wonder what that is though."

Andiamo Restaurant (7:54 PM) (Mariska's Perspective)
This was quite an interesting first day. Allie and I have managed within hours of our landing. This trip was supposed to be about celebrating our better relationship.
"What are you ordering?" I asked Allie. She didn't answer me.
"Are you giving me the silent treatment?" The waiter came over.
"Are you guys ready to order?"
"Yes, we'd like to start with the truffle fries, bruschetta, and the calamari."
"Any drinks?"
"Can I have a glass of your finest wine, and a Fanta?"
"Of course."
"Allie, remember what Dr.Karev said in our session together?"
"I don't care about what she said."
"Allison." She stared out the window.
"I don't like your attitude. Allie, you aren't usually this sensitive. I thought that we were joking around at first earlier. But then, I realized you were hurt. Would you like to talk about something?" I asked her.
"No. Just stop it." She suddenly began crying.
"Allie? What's going on sweetheart, you can talk to me. Whatever it is." I told her. She put her head down on the table and continued crying. I don't know what to do. This is an amazing start to our trip.
