"August do you understand how much trouble you are in young man?"
"Hmm, I guess so. Not that it matters much."
"What has gotten into you? Get in the car right now." I got into the car as cool as possible. That was part of the whole plan.
"I'm so disappointed in you, when you go home, go straight into your room until I feel like talking to you. How could you just leave your sister like that?"
"Ugh, mom she could literally walk there by herself. It isn't a big deal."
"That doesn't matter, I asked you to supervise your sister on the way to school, and go to school as you're expected. So it seems like you can't handle being a 14 year old, it's surprising that your sister handles this way better than you. If anything I would suspect this from the littles."
"Mmm."
"Don't give me that. Who's this Emma Glaydes that you were with?"
"A friend."

*Back to Allie's POV
"Mama!! Hi, today was great."
"I'm glad baby, Hey, when we get home I wanna talk to you."
"Sure. Where's August?"
"In the car, in the car baby." I could tell she wasn't happy at all, my guess was that August was in some serious trouble. Now I was starting to feel guilty, maybe I should've stayed . Maybe I should've dragged August to school. Mama wouldn't be this stressed and have to leave work then.
"Sorry Mama." She stopped dead in her tracks,
"Sorry for what baby?"
"About Auggie. I'm sorry if he did anything bad."
"Don't apologize Allie, you didn't do a single thing wrong. We'll talk more at home okay?"
"Okay, and I'm kind of hungry can I get something from the bakery?"
"Sure. You deserve it!" I went into my favorite seat of the car, the seat on the left and buckled up. I didn't say hi to Auggie, I was really upset with him, instead I talked to mom about my day.
"So basically I have over half of my classes with Joy and Kimberly so that's fun. Then I have like 2 classes with Joshua so I'm pretty hyped about that. There's so much more but I'll tell you in private."
"Coolio, this Joshua is just a friend right?"
"Mama! Of course." My mom fixed her mirror and began to laugh.
"Then why are you blushing huh?"
"It was just unexpected. But we're just good friends. If there was anything else going on I would tell you."
"Good, let's keep it that way for little while. Now I'm going to go pick up the little kids, are you staying in the car?"
"Yeah I'll stay." I looked at August who was quiet the whole time.
"August, stay put." My mom said angrily. That's what I like about my mom. Oh wait, that must've confused you, I mean I like the fact that when my mom is mad at one of us she doesn't project it on everyone. I watched my mom walk inside my old school, when she was out of sight I heard,
"You better not tell mom a single thing."
"Ugh, leave me alone August. I'm telling her about Emma."
"No you aren't, or I'm telling mom about you and Joshua's relationship."
"Ahaha. Mom knows we're only friends, didn't you just hear me confirm that? There's no way she'd really believe you anymore. Especially since you lied on me the first time, and you're in a bad place right now. If anything you should be begging for my help. Not like I would help you." August didn't say a single peep until the little kids came back.
"Look at what we did!" They showed their projects and I clapped for them.
"Those are cute. I'm happy that you guys had a good first day."
"Yeah, you were right, Ms. Talerico is really nice." Andrew said.
"Told'ja."
"Okay guys we're gonna go to the bakery and then go home. How does that sound?" I put a thumbs up and the littles said,
"GREAT."

"Thanks for the pasta mama, can I have some more?" Amaya said.
"Sure, here." She handed her some more pasta and Amaya wolfed it down as usual.
"Take your time, you're gonna choke Maya."
"I'm just really hungry!" She quickly drank her milk and put her plates in the sink.
"I'm going to go watch TV. I'll wash the plates after." I shook my head as Amaya jumped into the couch.
"She's really in a rush these days."
"I know right." My mom placed the pot back in the cabinet.
"I'm going to take a shower, I feel gross. I'll go into your room after, I know you wanted to talk to me.."
"K, thanks honey."
"For what?"
"For just being amazing these days."
"No problem." I ran upstairs into my bathroom and turned on the water in my shower. As it was getting to my desired temp. I looked at myself in the mirror and inspected myself. I was a beautiful tan, and pretty green eyes, and long curly hair.
"Mama was right, there's nothing wrong with me. I'm beautiful." With that being said I hopped into the shower. I tend to think a lot in there as most people do I suppose. I was focusing on where I would be in the next year or so. Obviously in 7th grade and still in middle school, but I meant more in a mental and emotional health perspective. I've been making progress and I want to keep it that way!
"Allie is everything okay in there?"
"Huh?"
"You've been in there for a while."
"I have? I'll come out now then." I stepped out, dried off, slid my panties on and wrapped my towel around me. I opened the door to see mom waiting.
"You alright there buddy? I thought something was going on there."
"I'm okay, I was just thinking too hard. I'll just put the rest of my clothes on now."
"You can finish dressing in my room, daddy's working late today." I nodded and walked into her bedroom with her. When I first came here I felt uncomfortable changing in front of my adoptive mother, but nowadays it isn't a problem because we've built enough trust to the point that I don't really care if she sees my body. I slid on my pants and put my hair up and out of my way.
"That's a pretty nice mood necklace, who gave that to you?"
"Josh."
