Mexico City, Mexico
After we got through immigration we went to our hotel.
"How about we shower and go and have a feast?"
"Sounds great!" He put his arm around me and I looked out the window.
"Is it okay if I talk to you about something when we get to the hotel?"
"Of course sweetie."
"I can wait to try some authentic Mexican food."
"How about you do us a favor, and be our translator." I laughed and he gave me a kiss.
"We're going to have a lot of fun. Aren't we?"
"We totally are." I continued looking out the window and imagining the things we'd do eventually.

My Bedroom (Amaya's Perspective)
I felt a bit lonely because Allison was gone. Majority of my friends were on vacation.
"Amaya, come and eat." Mama yelled.
"I'm not hungry." I said loud enough for her to hear. I started making bracelets quietly.
"Maya, why aren't you hungry?"
"I feel lonely Mama. I have no one to play with, barely."
"What about Vivian, and Andrew?"
"I live with Andy Mama. And Vivi and I got into a fight."
"What? When?" She said as we walked downstairs.
"Last day of school."
"Why did you guys get into a fight?"
"Because she was being rude."
"How?" I didn't tell her. I didn't know why she cared anyways.
"I can't help you if you don't tell me."
"I know that Mama."
"If you tell me I can help you fix this."
"Fine. Fine. She wanted me to come over but we were having dinner that night, I said you wouldn't let me. She said if I had asked you, you could've said yes. I told her stop being annoying and she told me to stop being stupid about it."
"Looks like you both were being mean to each other. I think you guys should apologize."
"But why?"
"Because you called her annoying Amaya. That isn't kind." She went over to her phone and decided to call her mom.
"Yes, Mhm. Oh, you guys are home right now? We'd love to come over. Alright, see you soon!"
"Aww Mom!"
"We're going over there. Come on young lady."
"This isn't fair."
"It is. You guys are both apologizing to each other." When we got to the house her Mom was there.
"Vivian, can you come downstairs for me please?"
"Okay." She came downstairs with her arms crossed and we just stood their awkwardly.
"Go on,"
"I'm sorry for saying you were acting stupid, I should've tried to understand you more."
"I'm sorry for saying that you're annoying, I should've just explained more. Friends?"
"Mhm." We hugged and then went upstairs to her room.
"I really did miss you. I had no one to play with."
"Me too, everyone's gone and we're here. We were supposed to be on family vacation but Allison is with our Uncle and we're waiting for her to come back."
"We're waiting for Daddy to come back. Wanna make bracelets?"
"Totally."

Mayan Ruins (Allison's Perspective)
"That was a good hike Uncle Chris!"
"It was." I took some pictures to send to Mama and sat down next to him. We were both taking in the amazing view even though it was making me slightly scared.
"Allie, do you mind if I ask you some questions?"
"Nope. What are they?"
"Can you tell me about this guy friend that your Mother was telling me about?"
"Sure, I guess."
"Were you guys a little bit more than friends? Because if you were, I won't judge."
"A little bit more you can say. He was my boyfriend and I was his girlfriend but it wasn't serious the way teenagers were. It's just like we were more closer friends rather than true lovers even though I did have a major crush on him."
"Did? Have things changed?"
"I still love him I guess. I just- don't think...Well...."
"It's hard to explain?"
"Yeah."
"But now that I think of our so called relationship. It was more like a deeper friendship." I said while fingering quotation marks over the word relationship.
"Did you guys ever, though I know you said it was a friendship, be deeply romantic with one another?"
"We'd do small kisses but we'd never make out because I wasn't ready for that at all and he was able to respect that. I know myself better than anyone, and I want going to make myself suffer to please someone else, we're too young to that anyways."
"You're completely right about that, you're a very mature girl Allie."
"I get that quite a bit." I laughed and let out a little smile.
"So how do you feel about that relationship if you know what I mean?"
"It wasn't serious, and I'll save a legitimate relationship for when I'm older and I'm actually ready to be romantic. Daddy thought it was actually romantic in the beginning funny thing."
"I would too, your father loves you very much. He just didn't want you growing up to fast."
"And so he had to take my lipstick as well?"
"Yes, he did."
"It was just some red lipstick!"
"Well, it's too much for an 11 year old girl."
"I guess you're right, I'm turning 12 soon."
"Any plans for your last year before you become a teenager?"
"Not yet, Mama's probably gonna want another party which doesn't bug me much to be honest with you."
"Well, whatever it is tell me. Speaking of that, Sophia really wanted to catch up with you. Give her a call one day."
"Okay, I will."
"Let's start heading back, I'm starved."
"Same. I want more tacos." He helped me up and we started heading back.
"We have to call Mariska too, she's been dying to hear your voice again."
"She's obsessed. I don't blame her, I'm an amazing person to spend time with!"
"You really have a great sense of humor."

FaceTiming Allie & Chris (Mariska's Perspective)
"Hey baby! We miss you!" I said.
"Hey Mama! Where's Daddy, August and Andy?"
"Having a boys night, say Hi Amaya."
"Hi Allie, come home because I'm so bored."
"I'm coming soon don't worry."
"Where's Chris?"
"Showering because we took a hike."
"I hope you took one too, hygiene Allison."
"I took one first. I don't like feeling sweaty." Amaya laughed and Mama gave her a kiss.
"Guess who's on the phone?" I said to my Uncle.
"Mariska and Amaya, What fine ladies! What are you two doing today?!" He said while attempting to speak in a British accent.
"Try harder Uncle.."
"He's so funny, but he did okay Allie!" Amaya said while sticking up for him.
"I'm with Allison on this one Amaya."
"Amaya's the best honestly you two are haters."
"We're just telling you the truth!"
"Yeah, and the truth hurts." Mama said honestly. I felt a bit tired from that hike and closed my eyes as my Uncle and Mama talked.
"Looks like Allie is out for the night." That was the last thing I heard until I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping.
