"What's wrong Allie? You've been picking at your food for the past half hour."
"Quesadillas just don't seem too good all of a sudden." I got up and ran to my bedroom. When Joy said that it was just the beginning, she was right. I kept getting flooded with questions ever since, someone texted me on my iPad and computer demanding for info. How did people get such personal info? It makes me uncomfortable to think about how it's spreading too. I just want to be left alone!
"Allie, what's wrong?" My mom pulled me into a hug and comforted me.
"School."
"What about it?"
"August caused people to come and start asking me things about him and his girlfriend. Asking if they're making out with each other or with they're sleeping with each other. I don't know what that means!! But I know it's not good."
"Oh sweetie, rumors are not for the faint hearted. You need to learn how to toughen up and ignore them. And about the sleeping thing, we'll just have to have one of those talks again."
"Oh no."
"But first, let's talk about getting thicker skin. You do not allow these people to have you crying and upset. You hold your head high and carry on with whatever you were doing. As if you heard nothing."
"But they're-"
"What?"
"Never mind."
"Tell me."
"They texted the iPad and MacBook though."
"Go and block them after this convo."
"Mkay."
"Mom I have to confess something to you."
"What?"
"I saw August kissing and feeling up on Emma." I sighed and drank some of Mama's water.
"You did? Allie.."
"I didn't know if I should tell you. Sorry to surprise you."
"It's better then keeping it a secret. I appreciate your honesty." I smiled.
"Now I want to explain to you what the person meant,"
"I know it takes both genders to make a baby."
"Right. Anything else?"
"Nope."
********
"That was interesting." I said to my mom and dad.
"Essentially how it works kiddo."
"I can't wait to have my own kiddos."
"Not so fast Allison." My mom said.
"We're not going to think about that right now." She chuckled.
"Allison was asking me about makeup this morning, I choked on my coffee."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I wanna try lipstick Mama."
"I'll show you one day okay?"
"YAY."
"Mariska!"
"What? She's just experimenting, there's no harm in that."
"Daddy, look. I'm just trying some lipstick, I'm still going to be your sweet girl I promise. I'm just trying new things. Like those ripped jeans I wore to school. I'm trying out a new style. I'm not ready to fully transition though. I still wanna be a kid, play with my dolls every once and a while, have our daddy daughter dates, stuff like that. It'll all be okay." I hugged my father and kissed him on the cheek.
"Dad, what's wrong?"
"He's okay. He just needs a minute. What you said was too much for him apparently."
"Alright. I'll be in my room, come and say goodnight when you're ready. Toodles!"
"She's growing up too fast for me. It was like yesterday when we adopted her." My dad said wiping a tear from his eye. I smiled and walked back to my room.
"Okay so I have science homework and then I'm done basically." I started taking out my notes and using them to answer the questions. After a while I stopped, I honestly don't know why but I had this strange urge to talk to Mama about Joshua. Do your homework at least, I thought. I looked at my clock and the time said 8:19. I only had 3 more questions left. Stop thinking and work!! I rushed through the last three and sighed.
"Mama!! Mama!!" I said running towards her door.
"What's wrong?"
"Come, I need to tell you something."
"You're really an exciting one today." She said while closing my bedroom door.
"Sorry, I know you guys like your privacy, but I need your help."
"No it's okay, we weren't doing anything anyways."
"I think I like Josh Mama."
"Really!?" She said excitingly, it was obvious that she was waiting for this to happen.
"Yeah because today at lunch I gave him my whole sandwich, it made me feel happy and warm inside, and he looked kinda cute while eating it also."
"Awww. Somebody has a crush."
"Hahahahaha."
"Speaking of that I have something for you, I was waiting for a day like this." My mom went to go get it and I sat in oblivion.
"What's that?" She had a bunch of papers in her hand.
"I wrote these for when my daughter, was going to start growing up. Wrote one for almost everything that you're going to go through. Just read this one." We sat and read it together, she shared some embarrassing experiences and I just laughed at her.

Saturday Sept. 8
"I could always drop you guys off."
"I'll be okay dad, we're just going to Korea town."
"But the paps."
"We both have sunglasses, plus they're not as bad here as they are in Cali."
"Alright. Have fun, stay safe, and no boys!"
"K bye!" I locked the door and ran up to Joy, Kimberly, and Leila. She's a new friend of mine.
"I just really want  to get that red velvet album."
"Which one?"
"Summer Magic."
"Alright let's go guys, my dad is practically staring us down right now."
"Yeah!"
"What train are we taking again?"
"The 1 train. Come on guys, we all know our parents would want us back as quickly as possible."  We all walked towards 86th street so we could start out journey. We rode on the train for about 7 stops and got out at 34.
"Alright so where do we get out now?"
"7th ave. And 33rd at the North east corner."
"K let's go guys." We walked outside into the busy streets of New York City. How I hated them so much.. Anyways  we're almost there.
"Look at that! Koryo Books!" Kimberly said with such exaggeration.
"Look it's red velvet over there!" Joy and I ran over to grab our desired albums. Kim and Lei were busy looking at BTS as usual. We grabbed the albums and went looking around for some sweaters and stuff.
"I dunno, these don't seem our type."
"Facts."
"Look at all this stuff we got guys!"
"Y'all must really have that kind of money." I said with a giggle.
"You say it as if your parents aren't millionaires."
"Good point, but did you get any red velvet stuff?"
"Just the dumb dumb album. But let's pay and go eat."

*Mariska's POV
"I've been thinking Peter,"
"Yeah?"
"Don't you think it's time for Allie to get a phone?"
"I actually haven't thought about that."
"She's definitely old enough and mature enough. We know that she'll take good care of it."
"That's not my issue though."
"Peter, she already talks to boys, she's had her first crush already also."
"Why am I never informed?!"
"Because it's girl chat."
"Wow, but- you're right she already talks to them, so I guess there's no harm in it."
"Mhmm, I know exactly which one she wants too. She doesn't ask but you can tell she really likes the iPhone 8." I ate some of my salad and took a sip of water.
"So how about we go get it, so when she comes back she'll be pleasantly surprised."
"Sounds great babe."
