Y/n's POV
I ran through the forest sliding down a small hill that still had some snow on it whipping my gun up shooting my target just off of a bullseye. I sighed but quickly continued. When I heard the breaking of the bramble and leaves I ran fasterbarly stopping to shoot my next target.
BANG!
NIce, that one was a bullseye. I heard a chuckle behind me. Sighing I began running again. How did she move so fast? I cleared the forest just before she did sliding onto my knee to take my shot. I took a deep but quick breath and took my shot. Ai smiled proud of myself, another bullseye..
My smile faltered when I looked over at Greyson standing there in the perfect position to take a shot, her finger on the trigger and everything. I stood up and Greyson turned to smile at me nodding, proud.
I was quiet on the walk back and sat on the porch steps while she stood leaning on the stone railing. I sat for a moment longer fiddling with my fingers before I stood up and walked over to her.
"Greyson?" She turned
"Yes darling?"
"Why did you let me win?" I asked, putting my hand on the cold railing. "What do you mean?"
"You could have taken the shot and won but you didn't why?"
She thought about it for a moment before replying "I get to surve this city and that is enough for me, besides you deserve it." She took a sip of her sparkly drink in her hand before smiling down at me. "I don't want to win because you think I earned it. I want to win because you were giving it your all and I had the skills to beat you." I huffed out.
She chuckled at me before asking "Does it really mean that much to you that I let you earn it 100% on your own?"
"Yes it does." I said looking her straight in her gray eyes.
"Well then I promise to not hold back on you just don't be upset if you don't win immediately.
"I won't, thank you."
"Of course darling." I kissed her on the check before grabbing her hand.
"Come on, let's go back to the party." I said and she nodded letting me drag her back to the music filled room. ________________________________ Sorry for the late update
