Dream hummed to himself as he left his room, moving to the kitchen. He made himself a quick meal before scrolling through his phone. Phil was live, Dream clicked on his stream and almost immediately went to donating. It was easier then spamming in the chat, besides he didn't care about trying to save for anything.
He had all he needed- a small house with his cat in the same area as most of his friends. The message showed up on the stream. 'Dreamwastaken donated $300! you're pog Phil, keep it up :)' and then he closed the stream. He checked to see if any of his other friends were live before moving once again, this time to feed Patches, his cat.
He would have to go check on Techno's pets soon, the piglin hybrid told him how he hadn't had time and was worried about them. Dream, of course, told Techno he'd go within the next week and make sure they were all doing okay. Almost everyone on the smp had decided to move into one area while keeping their respective bases far away and secret.
It made it easier to plan things and stuff like that. Dream sighed to himself, looking through his chests for his armor. They didn't need their armor in the area because they'd managed to stop mobs from spawning and they had all sworn to never fight with weapons or anything within a hundred blocks of any house. He needed his armor when leaving the area though.
Dream found it and put it on, also grabbing his sword and a bunch of food- both for himself and the animals he was checking on. He knelt down next to Patches, giving her a quick pat before leaving the house. Dream walked out of the area in the direction of Techno's house. Carl, all the dogs, Steve and his foxes, he had to check on all of them- not that he minded, of course.
He finally gets there, his legs hurting- he knew he should've gone through the nether or at least taken his horse. Dream groaned but kept walking anyway, this time specifically to where the dogs were. They didn't bark when they saw him, instead almost all of them had tails that were wagging. He had been there many times, whether for the animals or for Techno or Phil, he'd shown up a lot.
Dream smiled softly, slipping off his mask. He started filling up all their bowls with food, checking to make sure none of them were hurt before going up into Techno's house. To see Steve. Dream pushed open the door and walked over to the polar bear, closing the door behind him. Dream ran his hands through Steve's fur, kneeling down slowly.
"Hey Steve, hungry?" Dream knew Steve couldn't understand, but it felt nice talking anyway. The polar bear pushed it's head against Dream's hand, requesting pats and who was Dream to deny? Dream finished checking on and feeding all of them before heading back to the small town they had created.
He went to Techno's house and knocked, deciding to let him know it was done and they were all okay. "Hallloo?" Techno opened the door. "Just wanted to let ya know they're all good, no need to worry anymore," Dream smiled. "M'kay," Techno closed the door again so Dream walked off. He went back to his house- or well, he started to.
Sapnap texted him before he could get there though. Dream took off his armor and quickly put down an ender chest, putting it in there for now. He picked the ender chest back up and made his way to Sapnap's house, keeping his mask off. Dream knocked on the younger's door, waiting for him to open the door. Sapnap slowly pushed the door open, keeping his head down.
"Hey Sap, can I come in?" Sapnap quickly got him inside, closing the door behind him. Sapnap hugged Dream tightly, his face in the taller's shoulder. "Did something happen with you, Karl and Quackity?.." Dream decided that would be the most likely situation- and he was right. "Wanna talk about it?" Sapnap nodded, which lead Dream to bring them to the couch and sit down.
Dream listened to Sapnap as the younger cried about what happened- Karl and Quackity had a disagreement with Sapnap and they argued, Karl and Quackity eventually walking away in hopes to dismiss the argument. Dream decided he'd talk to the other two later to try and get answers to his questions, he knew they were all probably upset but he couldn't ask Sapnap the questions right now.
Besides, the younger didn't seem to remember much about it. "Dream... you-you won't leave me, right?.." Sapnap spoke up after he had calmed down. "I'll be by your side for as long as I can, Sap," Sapnap seemed happy with that answer. A few hours later, Dream finally messaged Quackity, asking him what happened between him, Karl and Sapnap.
He got his answers and helped them sort it out as best as possible. The next week, the three were together again and seemed to be talking it out. Dream hummed when he saw them, walking around the rest of their small town to see if anybody else needed help.
He noticed one of Foolish's incomplete buildings in the distance, he remembers Foolish saying something about not having enough logs, glass and a few other things. Dream decided to go gather as much of all of them as he could, along with some extra resources for any more tools Foolish might need.
It took him a month to get as much as he was happy with leaving- at least three double chests per material, excluding the ores. Dream passed out on his bed the second he laid down, he had been so focused on gathering he forgot to eat or sleep. He slept through three days, only waking up due to the pain of hunger and thirst.
Dream slipped out of his bed tiredly, slowly making his way to the kitchen and preparing some cereal. He was about half way done eating when he realized he had promised to help George out with something the day before. A few days before Dream went gathering, George had told him about a project he was working on but he didn't have enough materials for yet and asked if he, Dream, could help him gather some a few weeks later.
Dream quickly ate the rest, putting the bowl and spoon in the sink before running to the brunette's house. He knocked on the door, taking a deep breath as he did. The door was opened quickly, George had obviously been waiting by it. "So you finally show up!" George huffed, crossing his arms.
"George- I'm sorry, I was asleep," Dream apologized. "For an entire day?!" George yelled- Dream couldn't blame him. "Three days, I think," Dream corrected, suppressing a yawn. George didn't seem to believe it but he didn't comment on it anymore. "Let's just go," And with that, they walked around the server, gathering whatever George said he needed.
This continued for about two weeks before George said he had enough materials for whatever he was making. When they had finished on the last day, Dream went back home and made sure Patches was fed. He knew that even if he forgot to feed her one day or something stopped him, she would go out and get her own food until he was back.
Dream then went to his room, sitting down. He could tell people were starting to rely on him, and as much as he felt like he shouldn't mind, he didn't want to make them all need him. It wasn't ever his intention for it to get to this point. Dream didn't have the heart to refuse to help and that was becoming a problem.
He had to choose whether to let his go on a bit longer to try and see if he had another choice, or if he should leave right then and there. Dream chose to wait. Dream had a lot of different bases, none of which were huge or stood out from their surroundings. He started packing some things that night, just in case. He only left a month later, taking Patches with him.
He made sure he left nothing but furniture behind. Dream knew it was for the best, they had to keep being able to do things for themselves. He also knew that leaving would fuck with their lives for a little while, but it was still for the best and he wasn't going back until he could believe they were okay again.
A couple days after he left, people began noticing how much Dream had really been doing for them. George didn't wake up before it was already past midday, and he didn't wake up to breakfast being ready for him already. Sapnap didn't wake up to his house being clean every day and he didn't always wake up in his bed.
Techno didn't look into his fridge with a breakfast, lunch and dinner ready for him, he didn't grab his sword and find it cleaned. Phil couldn't walk to check on the horses to find them already fed and cleaned, he also couldn't open a chest to see it already organised. Wilbur hadn't found his guitar repaired every time he got upset and accidentally broke something on it.
Niki couldn't walk into her bakery to find everything put away and cleaned up from the nights she forgot. Puffy didn't always wake up in her house instead of the random places she fell asleep in sometimes. All in all, he did a lot for them all which they had only began to realize.
