The next morning feels like another nightmare for Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng. They need to avoid Ziyuan at any cost. They still feel shame and fear for the elder, making them unable to face her in case she suddenly goes into wrath. 

As they leave their room at the same time, they give each other a knowing look. As if telling the other that they need sneak out. They nod at each other's silent plan and walked down the stairs as silent as they can be. 

It was tough, sneaking out of the house with no one noticing them will now be their biggest obstacle every morning. Not eating breakfast in the house was never a problem, they can just eat outside. They successfully arrived at the garage to get their car, there is also Yanli who is about to enter her own car. 

"Oh, you're early today. Going to school already?" she asked, her classes start early that's why she leaves ahead of them every morning. But today feels unusual for her, she knows her brothers go to the university a little later, she also noticed the slight swelling skin under Wanyin's eyes. Her brows furrowed and withdrew out of her car, she approached the beta. She cupped his cheeks, swiping the swell gently with her thumbs, she eyed him worriedly. 

"Did you cry? What happened?" she asked softly, worried eyes locked on him.

The beta immediately looks away, he can't lie when he looks at her sincere eyes, but he doesn't want to let his Jie be worried about him. He masked his wavering thoughts with a smile, to the point that he was able to fool his sister with it. "I'm fine, Jie. I watched something emotional last night," he chortles and slowly wiggles out of her hold. 

She sighs in relief, let go, and smiled. "I thought it's about mom again," she replies which made Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng flinched for a second, glad that she didn't notice. 

"Oh! right, Jie. You'll be late, we should go," Wei Ying immediately rescued to change the topic, They don't want her to suspect even more. 

She jolted, "You're right! Gotta go, drive safely, you two!" she bids before entering her car and eventually driving off. 

The two waved at her. Wei Ying immediately fishes out his phone from his pocket, informing Lan Zhan that they're already on their way to the university.

When they arrived at the university, they parked at the nearest vacant parking space from the alphas. The two alphas are already waiting for them in front of their cars, slightly leaning on the hood. 

Wei Ying's heart immediately flutters upon spotting Lan Zhan. It was Lan Zhan's usual dress up but somehow he looks more handsome in his eyes. He looks like the peaking morning sun, shining so handsomely at him. He swallowed the lump in his throat. Shit, how can his heart ram on his chest so hard that it might jump out of his throat any moment. 

After parking, he went out of his car. Heart pounding in his chest, his hands getting damp from all the restlessness he's feeling. Oh my, what if he messes up and shows an embarrassing side of him? What if he stutters? 

So many what-ifs kept running into his head that he didn't notice the alpha is already in front of him, smiling so lovingly at him. 

"Let's go have breakfast," he utters, and reached for the omega's hands and eventually clasps them together. Wei Ying was not able to gather his thoughts in that mere seconds, his brain short circuits together with his face flaring red hues. Lan Zhan secretly chuckles, enjoying the omega's reactions. 

On the other side, Xichen approached the beta. Worried eyes looking at him, personal space didn't matter as Xichen reached for the beta's cheeks, gently running his fingers on the obvious swell under his eyes. He feels hurt seeing him in this state, he blames himself that he is not by the beta's side when he was crying, he could've wiped his tears away for him.
