"I'm getting fat!" Jiang Cheng suddenly uttered in the middle of his lunch with Wei Ying and Lan Zhan in the usual family restaurant they go to. 

The couple looked at each other, brows furrowing confusedly before looking back at the other omega. 

"What do you mean?" Wei Ying asked, raising a brow at him. It was so random that he find him weird saying such things. 

"Qing-jie said I'm getting plumper," he sniffles while stuffing his face with the steamed fish with chili, his second order which was supposed to be his main lunch but he ate the pancake first that is supposed to be his dessert, "And this fish is bland!" he complains and spits out the food on the plate, the tears that were just welling at the corner of his eyes gush out accompanied with his sobs. 

Wei Ying's eyes went wide, Lan Zhan was surprised too at the sudden change in his brother's mate's mood, they were just eating peacefully and in a second, Wanyin is suddenly crying his heart out.

Wei Ying frantically grabbed a tissue and handed them to Jiang Cheng, "Hey, what's the matter?" he coos but seems to be no effect. 

Jiang Cheng's face was starting to be showered with his tears, but instead of taking the tissue from his brother, he pushed them away. "I'm getting fat!" he wailed causing Wei Ying to grimace at the sight. 

"Hey, you're not getting fat. Okay? You look the same!" he tries cooing but the other omega bawled even more. 

Jiang Cheng sobs, "No! You're just saying that. What if Xichen doesn't want me anymore because I'm getting fat? What if he doesn't want to look at me anymore?!" he bawled, eyes around them gradually turning to them. 

Wei Ying stifles a laugh, hiding his face at the crook of Lan Zhan's neck to stop himself from bursting into laughter while the alpha smiles fondly at his omega as he watches him restrain himself. Jiang Cheng sounds absurd, why is he worried about such a thing when he's already mated to the person? "This is hilarious!" the omega whispered to his boyfriend. He then fished out his phone, his hands a little shaky from stopping himself from laughing, then he opened his camera and started recording Jiang Cheng secretly. 

"Wei Ying," Lan Zhan was about to stop him but Wei Ying gave a peck on his cheeks, "Shh, I'm gonna send it to Xichen-ge. Let's see if he'll come right away after seeing this," he giggles. Lan Zhan sighs, well, he can't say no to his omega anyway. 

The camera rolls. Jiang Cheng sniffles, lips pouting as he stuffs his mouth again with another food from the table that is not fish. "He won't like me anymore!" he wailed. In the background is Wei Ying's stifled laughs. 

"He still loves you because he is your mate," Wei Ying tries to coax but the other omega bawled harder. 

"NO! You can't say that!" he cries, then the video stopped.

Wei Ying giggles to himself as he opens his messaging app and sent the video directly to the older alpha, "Now we wait," he whispers to his boyfriend as he continued eating while watching his brother cries across them. "Stop teasing your brother too much," Lan Zhan whispers at him but the omega just giggles, "I'm not. It was only a little," he grins. Lan Zhan just sighs.

Xichen and Mingjue is still halfway through their work when Xichen's phone beeped. Xichen's brows furrowed as he picks his phone that was sitting just beside the stack of papers. 

"Video?" he mumbles which caught the larger alpha's attention.

"What's the matter?" Mingjue asked curiously, leaning towards him to peek at his phone.

Xichen shrugs and opened the video he received from Wei Ying. Upon playing the video, his brows furrowed, his heart thumping in ache when he see tears from his mate's eyes. He's not even halfway through it when his scent glands started to tingle a little, feeling the distress of his omega. His feet frantically stood from his seat causing the chair to stumble and Mingjue to look at him in shock. 

"What happened?" Mingjue asked confusedly. 

Xichen looked at his best friend, eyes full of worry, "I- My omega needs me!" he slightly trembles, horror is in his eyes. 

Mingjue worriedly looked at him, "Huh? What happened?" he asked worriedly. 

"I don't know, but he's crying," he stutters. 

"Then you should go! I'll finish this myself!" Mingjue suggested, reassuring him that he was fine to go.

Xichen bows at him apologetically, frantic as he grabs his things, "I'm sorry! I'll make up to you sometime yeah? Thank you!" he continuously babbled, not even waiting for the larger alpha's response, and ran out of the student council room.

Xichen arrived at the Family restaurant, frantic and his face covered with sweat. When Wei Ying spotted the older alpha, he waved his hand at him to gesture for him to come over. 

"What happened here?" is the first thing he asked as he sits beside his omega and immediately cradles his head onto his chest. "Baby, what happened?" he asked softly, gentle hands combing his mate's hair. 

The omega sniffles, hiding his face in his safe space, "Qing-jie said I'm getting plumper," he said between sobs, hands clutching tight on the alpha's clothes. 

Xichen's eyes are wide, a little offended at that but focused on cooing his omega. "She said that?" he asked softly, and cupped his omega's cheeks then leaned away to scan him, "For me, it doesn't look like it," he commented, voice calm to not aggravate the omega's cries.

Unfortunately, it didn't help one bit, his sniffles getting louder, "It's because you are attracted to me so you can say that!" he protests, pulling the alpha to plant his face on his chest. 

Xichen was shocked at that but then he sighs, smiling fondly at his omega with his gentle hands rubbing his back, "You know what, baby? I love you whatever shape you are," he coos.

Cheng pulled away, cheeks puffed and lips pouted, "Even if I'm a worm?" he asked sulkily.

Xichen is utterly speechless, eyes wide at the sudden question, "I-I-..."

The expression on his face brought Jiang Cheng's mind into haywire, his eyes that were close to stopping producing tears just bawls again, giant tears leaving his eyes, "You don't really love me do you?" he cries, planting his face on the alpha's chest once again, creating a wet spot on his clothes. But the alpha doesn't care about his clothes all wet, instead, he frantically hugs him, "No, I- I love you even if you're a worm!" he frantically answers just to coo him, rubbing soothing circles on his back.

"You'll be fed to a bird when you became a worm," Wei Ying laughs. Xichen doesn't even have the time to process what Wei Ying said when his omega cried harder, he became more frantic.

"Wei Ying," Lan Zhan reprimanded him that made Wei Ying smile sheepishly at him, "I'm just kidding," he answers, giggling under his breath. Then his eyes went back to his brother who is bawling even harder.

Wei Ying laughs at the sideline as he watches the comedy just in front of them. But then hears a beep from Lan Zhan's phone, his laughs stopped, and look at his boyfriend's way, the alpha immediately noticed his omega's eyes at him and met with his eyes, "babe, you have a notification,"  he said to Lan Zhan and pointed his phone using his lips. 

Lan Zhan looked at his phone's way but turns back to his omega, "It's fine. I can answer it later," he utters, planting a peck on his omega's forehead. 

Wei Ying's brows furrowed at that but chose to shrug off the thought and didn't pry any further. He just picked up his spoon once again and started munching on his spicy ice cream. 

Eating one spoonful made him forget about what was happening around them, he giggled and ate to his content, while his alpha watches him with full of love in his eyes, and occasionally kiss the corner of his omega's lips when he is sloppily eating. Wei Ying doesn't care though, the ice cream is still the best.
