An hour passed in the hospital and Lan Zhan had not woken up yet, and it was almost ten in the evening, and it was about time for Fengmian and Lan Yi to head home, Jiang Cheng on the other hand had already left, telling them that he'll go see his mate at the police station. 

"You sure, you'll be fine alone taking care of him?" Lan Yi asked, rubbing Wei Ying's back with soothing circles. 

Wei Ying smiled sweetly at her, slightly bowing his head, "Thank you for your concern, grandma. But I'll be fine, he had taken care of me once when I was brought to the hospital. I think it's my turn this time," he assures.

Lan Yi gave him a comforting tight-lip smile and nodded, "Then take care of yourself too. I'll ask someone to get you a blanket so you can at least sleep comfortably, yeah?" she muttered, "And make sure to eat too. I'm guessing you haven't eaten dinner yet?" she asked which Wei Ying smiled sheepishly at. 

She chuckled, "Then get delivery for yourself. We'll be on our way now. Take care," she bids. 

"Take care, son," Fengmian added and waved his hand as he heads out the door followed by Lan Yi. 

Now Wei Ying was left in the room with his alpha who is still peacefully sleeping. Wei Ying sighs in relief as he settles on his seat beside the bed, eyes on the ceiling as the silence of the room had finally filled his ears. 

What would happen now? Guangyao has already gotten caught, he'll probably not cause trouble in the future anymore. But what about Lan Zhan's uncle? He already met him even though he wished he didn't just yet. 

He sighed exasperatedly as he splayed himself on his seat, feeling all the tiredness succumb his whole being, even his brain is too tired of things that could possibly happen in the future. "Babe, what should I do?" he grumbles under his breath as he sits up to look at his alpha closely who is peacefully sleeping, even though he knew he won't answer anyway. 

He caresses his cheeks, as gently as he can to not wake the alpha, then he smiles lovingly when he suddenly hums and softly rubs his face on his palms, "I know I said we'll overcome this together, but this is too soon to be happening! I haven't prepared my speech yet!" he whined in a whisper, closing his eyes in frustration and massaging his temples.

But as if the gods are not hearing his pleas of tranquility for the night, the door creaked open. Wei Ying immediately bolted from his seat and stood straight on his feet as the subject of his frustration entered the room, behind him was a man that looks like his secretary.

Wei Ying curses under his breath, just when he's worried about it he suddenly appears. Why can't luck be on his side just for today?!

"Hello, Wei Wuxian," Qiren suddenly spoke, stern and will surely make a normal person shiver and submit. 

But unfortunately for the old- alpha, Wei Ying is not normal for his own good. You know, a serpent attacks if they sense danger, and that is what Wei Ying is. He doesn't even feel any fright even if he's standing in front of him with his intimidating poise of a dominant alpha. 

Wei Ying's face show indifference, he bows out of respect and greeted him with no signs of stuttering, "Hello, sir."

Qiren studied him from head to toe as if judging any imperfections on the omega. And when he noticed that the omega doesn't even have any remorse for seeing him in person, his expression became cold. "What do you want in return to get away from my nephew?" he asked, trying to intimidate the omega to surrender.

Wei Ying looks behind him where his alpha is still fast asleep, then sighs before turning back his attention to the older. "I think we should not talk about that here, sir. Your nephew might hear and his respect for you might gradually disappear," he replied confidently as if he's not talking to a dominant alpha.
