After arriving home, Wanyin went straight to his room. Didn't even bother to look at his mate, his feet were all heavy, and all his energy was drained, he just wanted to cry all night for all he knows. It feels draining and painful in the heart, he wants to disappear, he wants everything to be just a dream. 

Xichen watches his omega takes his steps up the second floor, feeling devastated and sad for him. Then he felt a light tap on his shoulder, turning his head, he saw Fengmian. 

"Let's talk, kid," he says and left the alpha. 

the alpha gulps as he follows suit and arrives at the dining room. Ziyuan is already seated on of the chairs while Fengmian beelines his way to her side. Lan Xichen sat across them. 

"First, what will be your plan?" Fengmian started, noticing his wife's rage from his peripheral. 

Lan Xichen bows, "I know this is too late, sir. But I would like to have your blessing. I will do my best to court him to the best I can. I will marry him after he graduates, that is if he agrees with it. I'll take full responsibility of your son, sir," he said politely, standing from his seat and bowing ninety degrees to show his sincerity. 

"Then did you ask about the breaking of the bond if you're ready to take responsibility?" Ziyuan suddenly asked, straight to Lan Xichen's heart. 

The alpha was pricked at the question, yet he swallowed hard, "I was only asking the doctor, ma'am. If ever your son doesn't want the bond, we can consider the surgery to break them. But one thing is for sure, ma'am, I love your son. If he accepts me, I will do my utmost best for him," he proposed. 

Her boiling blood subsided after hearing his reason. Fengmian held her hand and squeezed it tight, then he mouthed at her, 'I told you'. Ziyuan just tilts her head, mouthing back a 'whatever'.

"So when can we meet your uncle?" Fengmian suddenly asked. 

Xichen suddenly felt cold, his body froze the question. His uncle? What will his uncle do to his omega and his family if he found out? He doesn't want his omega to experience what his mother had experienced. Not in this lifetime. He bites his lower lips, hands shaking under the table, then he gulps, "Sir..." he started taking all full attention of the two. "I love your son and I'm willing to marry him, but I have one favor to ask of you," he proposed, piquing the attention of the two.  "The company our father left for us is still under uncle's supervision, we're still under our uncle's supervision as well. As long as I get the company from uncle, he will free us from his guidance, that is after I graduate. Uncle is a strict man, our relatives too, our mother suffered discrimination from them just because she's an omega. I don't want Cheng to suffer that as well. So if you may allow me, can we keep the secret for the meantime from our uncle, just until we're free from his supervision," he requested, still in a bow as he ask for the two's permission. 

The couple looked at each other, understanding the alpha's reason, then they nod in agreement. "Okay. We'll keep it a secret for now. We're hoping you to take care of our son from now on. Talk with him about your plans and listen to his opinions as well." Fengmian instructed. 

Xichen stood from his bow and nodded, "I will, sir, Ma'am! thank you for giving your blessing. I will now talk to Cheng," he beams, before he leaves, Ziyuan stopped him. 

"Wait! refrain from calling us ma'am and sir. Call us dad and mom, since we will be a family soon anyway," she smiles at him.

He nods vigorously, feeling the warmth in his heart as he mutters, "mom and dad," when was the last time he said 'mom and dad'? Before their parents die. It felt so right on his tongue. For a moment there, he wants to cry and hugged the two because, after so many years, he finds himself having parents again, but he bites back his tears. Maybe he'll hug them some other time, for now, he doesn't want his omega to wait any longer. He'll confess and proclaim his promises to his mate. 

So he left the couple smiling as they watch him disappear from their sight.

"Wei Ying..." Lan Zhan softly shakes his omega after cutting the call from Yanli. 

The omega hums, snuggling deeper into the alpha despite the alpha's attempt to wake him up. 

The alpha sighs fondly, smiling down at his omega, "Babe, wake up. They are already home, we should go home too," he coos, shaking him a little more. 

Wei Ying mumbles incoherent words, lids slowly opening into a half, "...already?" he pouts and embraced the alpha even more.

Lan Zhan chuckles, brushing his hair away from his face, "Yes. We should go too so you can rest peacefully in your bed," he murmurs into his ear. 

"But..." he mumbles but the alpha stops him, "I also brought food and your favorite ice cream that we can eat before I go home later," he added. 

But the omega only heard the last part, he pouted even more and buried his face in the alpha's chest, "Then we can stay here forever!" he sulked. Though it's muffled Lan Zhan was able to comprehend what he said. 

The alpha just chuckles at him, giving him a tight embrace full of love. "My, my. What should I do with you!" he utters with full of fondness in his voice. 

"Stay with me forever!" the omega whines not even giving the alpha a chance to separate them. 

Lan Zhan laughs at him, brushing his omega's hair in an attempt to coo him, "Of course, I will, love. But I also need to go home, don't worry I will do my best to buy us our own house in the future so we can stay all day and all night together, hm?" he assures.

The omega head immediately perked up, eyes looking at his alpha while he pouts to find the affirmation, then he sighs, "Fine-" he answers, rolling his eyes. 

The alpha chortles as he pushed the omega's fringes away from his forehead before planting a kiss, "That's my omega," he praises. 

It was just a simple praise but it made Wei Ying's stomach somersault, his cheeks burn red, and his body feels electrocuted until the burn run down at his center, fuck, did he just got excited over that? 

He immediately hid his face on the alpha's chest but that did not escape the alpha's eyes. The alpha smirked feeling proud as he discovers something new from his omega. 

He loves being praised.
