"What's up with your uncle visiting me at my office yesterday?" Mingjue asked as he helps Xichen with signing and disapproving concerns of different clubs inside the student council office.

Xichen hums, "Hm, what did he tell you?" he asked, not looking away from scanning the papers in front of him.

Mingjue's hands stopped from turning another page of the paper he was holding and looked at his friend's way, "He's talking about a marriage interview for my brother and you," he squinted his eyes at him, finding it suspicious, "Don't tell me you have hots for my brother?" he gritted his teeth, his instinctive brotherly protectiveness immediately switched on.

Lan Xichen immediately stopped from doing anything and looked at his Mingjue, disgust plastered on his face, "Can you not? Where did you even get that idea from?" he asked, grimacing at him. 

The other alpha's expression relaxes, and then he shrugs, "Dunno. Well, he suddenly asks me if I can have my brother have a marriage interview with you, just to know each other something like that. I don't want to be rude to him so I just said I'm still thinking about him," he answers, "But what's with him? So eager to marry you off?" he asked curiously.

Xichen shrugs, "dunno about him. But about your brother, I have no intention of attending that marriage interview with him anyway. I'm actually thankful that you didn't agree with it. Also, I already worked that out," he answered.

"Really? You stopped him from marrying you off?" he asked, "Anyway, I don't really like your uncle," he scoffs.

Xichen laughs at him, "I don't like him too. And about marrying me off? If he set his mind to it he won't back down that easily," he answers casually. 

It made Mingjue's hands stop from doing from work, "Then how did you manage to work that problem out?" he asked, looking at him confusedly. 

"I talked it out with Yanli's parents already," he said smugly. 

Mingjue raised a brow at him, utterly confused at him, "You mean you're going to marry Jiang Yanli?" he asked with disbelief, "And here I thought you like her brother?" 

Xicghen chuckles at him, "I don't like him though, much bigger than that," he smiles fondly, "I won't marry her, stupid. But her parents have a plan for that so, I'll just depend on them on this," he smirks. 

When Mingjue is already confused, now he is more confused, "You close with CEO Fengmian?" he asked, not even making sense of every word Xichen spouts. 

Xichen nods simply, "mhm," he hums happily, the image of his mate suddenly popping into his head. 

Mingjue's jaw dropped, "Then who're you going to marry if not her? By the looks of your uncle, he hates imperfection, like having a beta as your spouse for example."

"Well for starter, Cheng is not beta anymore, he became an omega," he answers with a fond smile. 

It didn't become any clearer to MIngjue, brows still furrowed, bewildered at everything he is hearing today. How did a beta turn into an omega? 

Xichen chuckles when he saw Mingjue's confused face, "Well, this and that happened so now he turned into an omega, then we bonded so now he's my mate," he simply said like it's a normal thing to say. 

The bigger alpha gasped, "You mean you had sex with him then he became an omega?!" Mingjue said in disbelief a little louder than normal which made Xichen immediately stand from his seat and cupped his mouth to stop from being so loud.

"Shhh! That's so vulgar, we're at school!" he reprimanded, then he sighs. When he made sure the other alpha won't say something like that again, he let go and went back to his seat, grabbing another paper from piled workloads, "Yes, we did that. Then he suddenly became an omega!" he cleared. 

Mingjue was utterly confused as hell, his head not even processing anything by this time, "But how does a beta suddenly become an omega?" he asked, not really believing the idea of the sudden change of secondary genders or whatever they call him that. 

"I don't know too. We went to a doctor and they confirmed it," he shrugs, as he sighs on the paper he's holding. 

Mingjue nods, even though he's still confused at his best friend's confession. 

Lan Xichen sighs, stopping midway as he looks at his best friend once again, "Please keep it from anyone else for now," his tone changing, "Only his family, me, and my brother knows about him turning into an omega. I still don't know what's going on in uncle's mind but I have to hide it for the meantime from him," he uttered as he looks down, he feels guilty imposing such a favor to his friend but he had no choice, cat's out of the bag and now he can only ask a favor for his silence. 

Mingjue sighs in awe at his best friend, "Didn't you hear what I said earlier? I don't like your uncle, of course, I'll keep your secret!" he laughs, patting Xichen's shoulder to give him assurance.

Xichen's looked up, a sigh of relief left his lips at the other's reassurance, "Thanks," he utters and they both continued their work.

"A'cheng!" 

Wei Ying, Jiang Cheng, and Lan Zhan turn their heads in the direction of the voice. Wei Ying ran to the door with enthusiasm, "Shiejie!" he beamed while Lan Zhan followed behind his boyfriend. 

 Wanyin looked at his sister confusedly, "A'jie?" he muttered and hastily fixed his things and followed the two, "What brings you here?" he asked. When he turned his head to look at who she was with, his eyes went wide, "Wen Qing-jie?" 

The female alpha waved a hand at him and smiled at the recognition, "Hey," she greeted, "It felt like forever that I haven't seen you," she added, "You kinda got plumpy over the weeks?" she chuckles jokingly. 

Jiang Cheng kind of felt offended by the comment but he decided to wallow about that later, he smiles sheepishly, trying to bury her words by changing the subject, "What brings you to the education department, A'jie and Qing-jie?" he asked confusedly. 

Wen Qing scratches the back of her neck as she smiles sheepishly, "uhh... well, you're sister told me about you turning into an omega..." she mumbles. "Sorry about that, A'cheng," Yanli immediately catches. 

"...Well, as you know... your case is not well known so we're planning to do research about it..." Wen Qing continues. 

"And well, you see. Your case is interesting and we hope you can help us with it!" his sister beamed. 

Jiang Cheng tilted his head to the side, "But how can I help you with that?" he asked confusedly. 

"You can just tell us the changes physically, emotionally, and psychologically," the female alpha enthusiastically explained but then her tone softens, "... that if it's not a bother..." she sheepishly continued.

The omega waved his hand at them and smiled, "No! It's fine, Qing-jie," he chirped.

Weng Qing sighed in relief, the tense she felt in asking for help left with her sigh, "I'm glad. Well, we'll be going ahead, for now, see you later!" she bids. 

"Yeah, see you at home A'cheng, A'Xian!" Yanli bids as well, "...and you too, Wangji!" added and waved her hand at them as she follows Wen Qing. 

The two omega's waved back at them, "Tell me when can I help you!" Jiang Cheng said to them before they left completely. 

The two med students nod before finally disappearing from their sights. 

When the two left, Wei Ying faced Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng, "Let's go eat!" he chirped. 

Lan Zhan looks up from his phone and smiles fondly at his boyfriend, "yeah, let's eat," he mumbles utters before pocketing his phone.
