After parking the car at a nearby parking space, Lan Zhan entered the cafe and ordered a cup of tea while he waited for his omega. 

He's worried yet he doesn't want to spoil his boyfriend's courage for facing his uncle despite all the threats that were thrown at him. All he can do is hope that his omega is doing fine as of this moment. 

Upon receiving his cup of tea, he sips and decided to wait patiently. Right, there's no need to worry, his omega is strong.

Wei Ying went directly to the cafe across the Lan's building his secretary in tow. 

"That was a bit tiring!" The omega complains upon slumping down to the seat across his alpha, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. But before he forgets he looks at his secretary who is awkwardly standing behind him. He sighs, a sweet smile leaving his lips, "Do you have somewhere to go? Or do you want to stay with us?" he suddenly asked, voice oh so sweet as if he just didn't made Lan Qiren-- a dominant alpha and a president of a company speechless. 

The secretary just bows politely, hiding his amusement over the omega, "I don't want to ruin your date, sir. I'll be at the office, you can call me and I'll come right away," he politely declined. 

Wei Ying grins, "Hm, then before you go, order me some caramel macchiato," he ordered, "and also, buy one for yourself," he grins. 

"But sir-" he was about to protest but Wei Ying was quick to stop him.

"That's an order, just do it!" he winks and handed him his card. 

The secretary obliged nonetheless, marching his way to the cashier. After which, he brought his boss's order to their table and bowed politely at Wei Ying before excusing himself. 

Now Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were left alone at their table.

"How's the meeting?" Lan Zhan finally asked, watching his omega with fondness. 

Wei Ying took a sip, when the warmth of the drink passed his throat, a satisfied sigh left his lips, "It was okay!" he beams at his alpha, giggling at the process. 

The alpha smiles, nodding as the weight in his chest a while ago vanished and was replaced with relief, knowing his omega didn't experience something traumatizing.

"He didn't say anything to you?" Lan Zhan asked, tilting his head as he observes his omega's reaction. 

Wei Ying only shrugs, "Nah, we talk about business. Since we'll be business partners from now on, I think we need to get along well," he beams before taking another sip. 

Lan Zhan nods, satisfied at what his omega said, "That's good," he answers, taking a final sip of his tea.

"Bub, you should eat. Our baby needs a lot of milk when he gets out of the egg, so in the meantime, I need to fatten you up," Xichen utters upon entering their room with a tray full of delicious food that is surely Jiang Cheng's favorites. 

The recessive omega turns his head at him, from his loving stare on their egg to glaring daggers at his mate. 

"Hmp!" he sulks, pouting with sharp glares pointed at the alpha but his face turns soft upon trailing an eye at the tray that his alpha was holding. The foods he was not able to consume while he was pregnant are on the platter, and now that he regained his appetite, he's already craving for them.

Xichen grins, seeing the immediate change in his mate's facial expression is amusing. And so he used the opportunity to approach the bed and put them down beside him.
