Two weeks later...

Everything went smoothly in the past two weeks. There's still Qiren who calls Xichen about his courting at one of the Jiang's omega which unbeknownst to him is Wanyin instead of Yanli. He still forces Lan Zhan on staying away from the omega who he calls "too barbaric" to be Lan Zhan's significant other. While Lan Yi is always on the rescue and has a never-ending argument with Qiren which ends up with Qiren turning off the call at her. 

"Feeling better?" Xichen asked his mate, cuddling his omega on their nest that he spent making for his omega's labor. 

Jiang Cheng hums, rubbing his head on the alpha's jaws and neck, purring in the process. His baby bump was big and visible, showing that any time now he'd be laying their egg. 

"Tell me if you feel any different, hm? I'll notify the doctor," he coos, showering the omega with his own potent pheromones.

Jiang Cheng only nods, settling on his alpha's arms, engulfed with his big guns and gentle hands rubbing and soothing his aching belly. 

The spectators are outside their room, waiting for any notification from the alpha on Wanyin's condition. 

Fengmian and Ziyuan are the most nervous among them, Fengmian embracing his wife in his arm. Though he doesn't show much on his face how excited and anxious he is, the way he hugs his wife tells otherwise. While Ziyuan grips her husband, tighter than usual. Anxiety crawled inside her. She knew how painful it was, laying an egg will surely exhaust the body, though after giving birth, it'll be a relief. Still, she's worried if his son would be able to handle it. 

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying on the other hand set up their bean bag outside their room. Their anxious but not like the others. Wei Ying trusts Jiang Cheng will overcome it, while Lan Zhan acts as Wei Ying's moral support, cuddling him close in the middle of their bean bag. 

Yanli is also seated on a chair she set up outside Wanyin's room, fingers fidgeting with each other as she eyes the door anxiously. Beside her is Lan Yi, who pats her back and gives an assuring smile. 

The doctor is outside with them, waiting for Xichen's signal to come inside.

The pair chose house labor over the hospital, a comfortable nest is what's best for the pup to put into after labor, and being between the parents and showered with their warmth and pheromones will keep the pup healthy.

It was fine at first, Wanyin still comfortably purring on his alpha's arms until it turn 360, and his stomach started aching. 

Xichen immediately notices the discomfort on his omegas face, his instinct spiking up and swiftly calling the doctor in. 

When the doctor was finally inside, he checks his pulse, his blood pressure and made sure he's in healthy enough to push through. 

The continuous contraction occurs every second, along with pressure on his pelvis. Beads of sweat roll down his face, together with his fat tears which Xichen wipes for him. It was painful on his lower back as if needles are being pricked on his back but much more painful. It was unbearable for long minutes, then subsides for a second until the pain strikes again. 

The alpha can do nothing but watch. He feels painful every second he watches his omega' wince, cry, or writhe in pain. But he can only coo him, whispering sweet nothings into his ear to ease the omega's cries. He massages any part where the pain courses. And assures that everything will be okay, that he's by his side and will never leave him. He lays beside the omega, not pulling away from the gradual tightening of his hold. Though the omega's clenching caused bruises on his skin, he knew the omega endures more pain than the scratch marks and blood that were left on him. 

More minutes passed and courses of pain keep coming, the omega relaxes for a second then the pain goes back again. 

It was a continuous cycle for hours, but his cries become louder every tickling hour, he even tries pushing followed by loud groans of pain but failed, leaving him panting.

The alpha watches and soothes him throughout, scenting him to at least soothe him, kissing his temple and forehead for reassurance.

For another hour, the tip of the egg started appearing, the doctor enthusiastically declaring to the two. 

It was a blissful moment but was still the start. 

Xichen felt another course of pain on his skin, nails digging down and drawing blood from them. He knew his omega was in another wave of pain. Now that the tip was peaking, there was more pain coming. The body of the egg is not any less small than the head.

From the outside, they all wince whenever they hear Cheng's cries, the shouts of agony that escapes the little spaces of the door.

It sounds painful, sending shivers to the people who hear them. But they can do nothing but wait and listen to the cries of agony, praying that it'll soon pass.

It took Cheng more than ten hours, his body was already exhausted by the time the egg came out. The egg was immediately buried under the scented nest, both parents' pheromones looming on them. 

Cheng's head buried in the crook of Xichen's neck, panting and directly inhaling his mate's jasmine scent in the hopes of calming his own. It was a painful journey yet he feels satisfied, his whole body easing from the pain. 

After the doctor check his vitals for the last time, he gave him a prescription of medicine to drink for recovery. "The baby will approximately be hatching after two months or so. The gender will be depending on the temperature. So it's up to you how you'll regulate the temperature of the baby. I'll be visiting two times a month for check-ups," the doctor declares which the two mentally noted. 

"Congratulations to you, Mr. Lan," the doctor beams, shaking the alpha's hand. 

Jiang Cheng, though on the brink of fainting to sleep, still hears them. He mumbles incoherent thanks to the doctor which Lan Xichen translates for the doctor to understand. After which, he succumbs to his exhaustion and finally breathes evenly on his alpha's neck. Xichen only coos him into sleep, purring for his omega's lullaby.

After the doctor left the bedroom, the rest of the family that was patiently waiting outside came inside. Gives a fond smile to the exhausted omega, then to his brave alpha who firsthand endures the painful cries of his mate. 

Then their eyes swifts to the egg that was sitting over piled scented clothes, they dare not mess the arrangement and just watch the tip of it that was visible over piled clothes. 

After making sure that the omega was okay, they all dismissed themselves, giving the two some rest since it was such a long journey. 

Xichen only gave them apologetic smile that they can't stay long after waiting for hours with them and thanked them for their support. 

It was yet agonizing hours but it was the best thing that happened to the family. Hoping to see the kid after two months.

A/N: I thought I'd be able to drop the drama, but I guess I calculated wrong. Hehe surri. Anyways, Wanyin finally gave birth, the baby will be hatching for two months, can't wait!

PS. I'm no expert on child labor or turtle laying eggs. I got the help of some searching on google and tried making them make sense, so it may not be accurate. I still hope you like the update tho. 

Facts: In general, turtles lay their first clutch of eggs about three to six weeks after mating. Before they lay their eggs, nearly all turtles prepare by making a nest on land. The eggs will spend approximately 2 – 3 months incubating (60 days) until they hatch.
