Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng arrived at the hospital as fast as they could. Wei Ying panting as he stops at the reception desk, frantically asking the nurse sitting behind where Lan Zhan was brought, while Cheng run-walk his way behind him. 

The nurse was accommodating and immediately directed them into a room, telling them that the doctor is there to check him. 

After getting the room number, Wei Ying immediately thanked her and made his way, ignoring and leaving Cheng by himself as he can't help the worry to succumb him. 

When he arrived in front of the hospital room, a doctor in his late twenties was already finished with checking Lan Zhan and was on his way out of the room. 

"Doc!" Wei Ying immediately called, panting as he reached the doctor. When his feet stopped, he prop himself up using his hands resting on his knees as he catch his breath. 

"Yes. Are you Mr. Lan's family?" the doctor asked. 

Wei Ying looked up, his head instinctively nodding, he's basically his family now so it's fine. "Yes, doc. Yes, I am," he answers promptly and stood as his breathing evens out. 

The doctor then bows, "Then let's go inside. I'll explain what happened to the patient," he answers, leading Wei Ying inside the room. 

Upon entering, his heart raced fast. The peaceful look on his alpha's face is so ethereal, and a part of Wei Ying is happy that his alpha was safe, with no scratches on his porcelain skin. But his eyes stopped at the bandage heavily wrapped around his arm. His brows immediately furrowed and looked in the doctor's way as if asking with his eyes what happened to that.

The doctor immediately notice the questioning eyes from the omega then he gave him a tight-lip smile, "Mr. Lan was brought here fainted, his arm has a deep bite mark, causing it to bleed. According to the police who brought, Mr. Lan. They found him fainted on the floor of a room with two omega's in heat." he paused. 

Wei Ying listens attentively, whilst already imagining Guangyao's grave inside his head.

"...And we found in the test, he had too much pheromones at once. It made his alpha instincts unable to identify which to respond to, which is why his brain automatically shut down. We already injected him pheromonal stabilizer. He just needs rest and he'll wake up soon enough," The doctor explained. 

Wei Ying sighs in relief, it's good he's not in danger or whatnot. But then his worries came back when he remembered what the doctor said. "You said he was found inside a room with two omegas in heat. Is he... by any chance..." his lips begin to wobble, words caught in his throat as he imagines the possibility that his alpha got caught up with his instincts and did it with them. His eyes are wide in horror, no, that didn't happen right? His alpha didn't do it with whoever they are right? 

he immediately clasp his hands together as it was already shaking in agony, his heart clenching in pain as series of what-ifs clouded his head. He wants to clarify his worries, but he's afraid to know the truth. He lowers his head, finding his next words but a hand patting his shoulder brought him back from his trance. he looked up to see the doctor, giving him assuring smile. 

"He's fine. There are no traces of the two omegas in heat left on him, it means he didn't make contact with Mr. Lan. There's only one pheromone that was embedded in his clothes, and I guess it was yours?" he asks as if teasing the omega. 

Wei Ying's cheeks flushed red, remembering what they did just to leave his pheromones on the alpha. He bites away his smile and looked in his alpha's direction as if to hide his bashfulness. His heart lightened at the doctor's confirmation. 

"T-thank you, doc. I feel relieved," he uttered. 

"It's my pleasure. I'll be going then. Let the patient rest for a while and he'll wake up in about an hour. Please call us when he wakes up, yeah?" the doctor declares and bowed at him. 

As the doctor was about to approach the door, it swiftly opened, making the doctor reflexively back away.

The door bangs open, and came entering a worried Lan Yi, behind her are Fengmian and Jiang Cheng. "Where's my grandson?!" she raised her voice, eyes immediately darting at the hospital bed. 

The doctor chuckles at the side, "Ma'am, please calm down. The patient is currently resting right now," he reprimanded with his kind smile. 

Lan Yi noticed the doctor and smiled sheepishly at him, "Oh, I'm sorry, doc," she apologized. "How is he doc?" she asked, a lot more calm now, "I'm his grandmother," she introduced. 

The doctor bowed, "As I explained to his omega," he paused, eyeing Wei Ying from where he was standing. 

Wei Ying's cheeks flushed in deeper red once again, hearing the doctor say such words, he might have noticed that he is not really a family member but a lover of the patient, but what made his cheeks flush, even more, is the 'his omega', his heart fluttered in joy. People recognize him that he is his. 

"...he had too much pheromones at once. It made his alpha instincts unable to identify which to respond to, which is why his brain automatically shut down. We already injected him with a pheromonal stabilizer." he briefly explained that Lan Yi immediately understood. 

"Thank you, doc. We'll look after him, we'll call when he wakes up," Lan Yi declares. 

The doctor nods and finally left the room. 

Lan Yi immediately approached Wei Ying who was already standing beside the hospital bed, she then reached his back and rubbed soothing circles. "He'll be okay," she coos, smiling at the omega. 

Wei Ying chuckles, "I know, grandma." he confirms, relief written all over his face. 

In the middle of their talk, the creak of the door was suddenly heard, indicating that someone must've entered. They all looked in the door's direction.

But what they didn't expect appeared in front of their eyes. 

"If you're going to cause a problem here, better get out, Qiren," Lan Yi's stern voice echoed inside the room, brows furrowing and almost fuming. 

"I'm not here t cause trouble," he declares, eyes glancing at her and then to her side where Wei Ying is standing. His eyes trailed from his head to toe, then turn back his gaze to Lan Yi. 

"I'm here because I'm worried for my nephew, which was caused by someone," he added as if pertaining to Wei Ying. 

"Hello, Mr. Lan. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but are you blaming my son?" Fengmian suddenly spoke, offended at the way Qiren spoke ill of Wei Ying. 

The shock on Qiren's face was evident for one second upon hearing Fengmian. He failed to notice him as his eyes were directed immediately to Wei Ying as he entered. 

Qiren bowed at him, "I'm so sorry, Mr. Jiang. I did not mean to say it to your son. My nephew is in this state because of whoever caused him this. I hope you didn't understand it the wrong way," he tries to save himself from his slip of the tongue but Fengmian was not convinced at all. After hearing words from Lan Zhan and Xichen, his perspective of Qiren was already tarnished. 

Hence, Fengmian let it go. He doesn't want to cause trouble for the sleeping patient. "It's fine, Mr. Lan. I hope we get along more," he declares. 

Qiren bowed, "I hope so," he replied. "I'll just take care of my nephew's hospital bills and everything to be settled here," he excused himself, bowing once again before leaving the room. 

Lan Yi scoffs when Qiren finally disappeared from their sight, then she rolled her eyes, "Brat!" she cursed under her breath which Wei Ying heard. He giggled at her antics.

A/N: when I thought I'm free from my school work since it was already our summer break, then my teacher in research just suddenly dumped another work for us to finish. I just want peace of mind, for fuck's sake! 😭
