Big Hit Music Announced SUNNY's Hiatus, SUNNY Posted Handwritten Letter April 27th, 2023. Written by Jung Hye-ri.
Her Asia concert tour is done and so does she has officially graduate from Seoul National University with a degree in TESL. With that, SUNNY and Big Hit Entertainment announces her break from the entertainment industry. This will be SUNNY's first hiatus since her break in 2021.
Back in December during a press conference after her father's funeral, SUNNY stated that she will return to Malaysia after she completed her work in Seoul.
She kept her word and now, she will return home to help her family to manage their family company. SUNNY uploaded a handwritten letter to tell her fans about her break on Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
She wrote, "I will be gone and I will be missed. But I promise you, I will return as soon as my job in Kota Kinabalu is done. I never break my promise, right?"
Indeed, she never broke her promise. She's a woman who keeps her promise and that makes all her fans trust her deeply. She also wrote in her letter;
"In a blink of an eye, papa has left us for 3 months, 3 weeks and 1 day. I miss him dearly and I haven't visited him since last year. With papa gone, no one is taking care of mama properly together with my grandparents. I need to go back to make sure that everything is alright first because since papa is gone, there are still, things that we cannot get used to."
She continued; "I promise that when the work is done, I will come back. I hope you can send your support and prayers for me and my family too. Please pray for everything we're working for will smoothly work and all of us will be under the guidance and protection of God. My prayers to you is also, for God to always protect you. I wish you the best and we will meet again when the time comes. Thank you."
How is that not a heartfelt letter? It's genuine.
