Chapter 20: Celebration

It felt like my chest was twisting in pain as I witnessed his frustration when the other team's score doubled. Kuya Ace offered to help him to stand up, but he refused and did it on his own.

The game went on and my eyes filled with tears as I saw how upset Hades was when the opponent took the ball from him and shot it into their ring again. The game's timer rang off, signaling that the game was finally over.

The other team won.

The tears I had been holding back fell down my face as Hades sat on the ground, covering his face using his palms. His teammates rushed over to comfort him. While the other team embraced each other because of their victory.

Even if they lose, people continue to cheer to show their appreciation and support for the Black Mamba team. They yelled and screamed louder than the enemy side's supporters.

Pumalakpak ako nang pumalakpak na rin sila.

Hindi agad ako makalapit sa kanila. They were still working on something down there. Hades forced a smile as he tapped his teammates on the shoulder. He's smiling, but I'm sure he's cursing himself on the inside. This will be his last game as a fourth-year college student, but this is how it ends. He was definitely disappointed in himself.

After bowing and shaking hands with their opponents, their coach talked with them for a moment before finally dismissing them.

Another tear welled up in my eyes when I saw how Hades' smile faded away after turning his back on his friends.

He was tired and in pain.

Kahit na alam niyang wala na silang pag-asang manalo, he still did his best until the end.

I'm so proud of him. Always.

I smiled when I saw his pained expression clearly. Tears welled up in his eyes as I opened my arms, inviting him to hug me.
