Arizona's P.O.V:
After saying goodbye to Teddy, I decided to take Noah over to the studio to see Callie to surprise her. When we got there, Doug, Callie's tech guy greeted us.
"Hey, Arizona. Great to see you again,"
"Hey Doug, is Callie around?"
"Yeah, she went to the bathroom, she will be back. Here have a seat," He says, pulling an extra chair up for me to sit, "Carrying that car seat must be really heavy."
"It's not too bad," I tell him, as I placed Noah's carrier on the floor next to me,"So who is this artist?" Callie has told me she had a new artist coming in, but never told me who.
"Her name is Sadie Harris. She switched from Capitol Records to us. She said that she heard that we were one of the best,"
"Well, she has good taste." I say, smiling.
"Yeah, but I think there's more to her story than what she's telling us," He says.
"What do you mean?" I ask him, furrowing my brow in confusion.
"What I mean is, I think she only came here because she has the hots for Callie. They have been flirting all morning it seems like." What? I just sat there in silence for a minute, my mind wandering off before I felt a hand on my shoulder, and a pair of lips that I have grown to love on my cheek. Recognizing that touch, I turned my head and saw Callie standing right behind me with a smile on her face.
"Hey Callie," I greet, forcing a smile.
"This is a nice surprise. What are you doing here?"
"Just wanted to surprise you," I say to her.
"Well, mission accomplished. Hey, big dude," she coos at Noah. She lifts him from my arms and snuggles him close to her, "so, you enjoying the show?"
"The show?"
"Yeah, Sadie. She's doing one of her new songs," I turned my head back to the booth and sure enough, she was, "she came to us from..."
"From Capital Records," I cut in, "she seems okay, I guess," Callie placed a hand on my shoulder, but shrugged her off. She must have noticed because before I realized, her lips were near my ear.
"You ok?" She whispers into my ear. No!
"Yeah, I'm fine," I lie. My mind was still on what Doug had told me before she came back in. Needing some air, I let out a sigh, then stood up from my chair, "I need to step out for a minute. The heat is really getting to me,"
"Yeah, sure," Callie says, "Are you sure you are, okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just getting a little stuffy in here," I lie again, then leave the booth. I stepped out the back door and leaned up against the brick wall. Letting out a frustrating sigh, I pulled out the pack of Marlboro Menthol. I don't smoke much, just when I'm stressed out mostly, or to calm my nerves. Like right now. Thinking about Callie flirting with that Sadie Harris chick makes my blood boil. I pulled out a cigarette from the pack and lit it up. Inhaling a big breath of the nicotine felt amazing. After a couple puffs, my body started to relax. I butted the cigarette and made my way back inside.
When I entered the tech booth again, I noticed Doug was holding Noah. When he saw me, he pointed to the recording room. When I looked through the window, I instantly saw Sadie's hand move down towards Callie's ass. Callie looked up at the artist and smiled. I watched her place her hand on top of the other blonde. Oh hell no.
"Tell Callie I'll see her at home," I say, taking Noah from his grasp, then laid him back in his car seat.
"Are you okay?" He asks, as I snap my son in.
"Fannnn-fucking-tastic," I growl. Picking up the seat, I reached back down to grab the diaper bag, then walked out.
Hours after witnessing my fiancé flirting with that another woman, Callie comes waltzing through the door.
"Hi Babe," Callie greets me, but I didn't say anything. I just kept flipping through channels on the t.v., "Where were you today? When I got back into the booth, Doug said you left,"
I laid the remote down on the couch and took in a deep breath.
"I had shit to do," I snapped. She was a little taken back by my new formed attitude.
"Are you okay?" she asks, "did I do something wrong?" I just scoff at her, then stand up from my spot on the couch and walk towards the kitchen, "What the hell, Arizona?" She joins me in the kitchen and tries to kiss my cheek, but I just take a step back.
"Okay, seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? Why the attitude?"
"You tell me, Callie," I say, crossing my arms.
"I have no idea why you're getting an attitude with me and clearly you won't tell me,"
"Why don't you ask Doug," I say, stepping around her.
"Where are you going?" She calls after me. But I don't answer her. I walked into the bedroom and grabbed and over night back and threw some clothes into it.
"I'm going over to Tim and Teddy's," I say, entering the living room.
"Okay, why don't you tell me what I did instead of acting like a child," she says to me as I was buckling Noah into his seat. I stood up and looked at her. Her eyes were pleading with me to tell her what she had done wrong, but instead, I said,
"I'm talking about, you and Sadie Harris, Callie. Now figure out from there," I lifted the car seat and diaper bag off the floor and made my way to the door.
"Arizona, don't go." I turned my head to look at her, tears now running down my face.
"I shouldn't have to tell you. You should know exactly what I'm talking about." That was all I said to her then walked out the door.
