•Chapter forty four•

She's so beautiful, just like you.

"I can't get enough of this," Jungkook whispered, knees pressed against the bed as he propped his elbows on the bed and placed his face on his palms, looking closely at the girl who was fully awake now.

They had both been looking at her dreamily for a while since they brought her back to their--Taehyung's--room.

She had been sleeping when the doctor brought her to Taehyung and handed her to him while giving him a few instructions on how and what to do now that he is a parent.

Jungkook was slightly disappointed to have missed such important instructions, but his mate assured him that it was all boring stuff that wasn't related to him.

Now, they were sitting in comfortable positions on the bed, the girl in between them.

Taehyung felt what seemed like guilt when he noticed how shiny Jungkook's eyes were as he looked at the baby, smiling whenever his eyes met the squirming girl's.

Though he was assured by the alpha that things were alright and there was no need for him to feel guilty about the past, he would still feel responsible for all of this until Jungkook finally accepts wholeheartedly that he's a father of an omega now.

It was sudden, very abrupt, but it wasn't bad or disappointing news to not be able to accept it quickly or have trouble understanding the matter. It was good news to Jungkook, and he seems ever willing to open his arms and hug what his present is now.

And Taehyung was glad about that.

They will have a fresh start with a daughter, Taehyung was glad about it.

They were parents now, and none regretted what happened. Why were they so happy and comfortable even when there had been such a huge storm in their lives just the previous day when everything changed so, so quickly?

It was the long talk that they had last night while they were holding each other, whispering, chuckling, and telling stories in a soothing soft whisper which removed every negative feeling from their body slowly until they were left with only excitement for what's to come.

Taehyung told his lover stories and stories of how, when, what, and all the details of things he experienced without him. Jungkook stayed calm and listened without speaking since he didn't have much to tell.

Unlike Taehyung who did have warm and soft memories of times he spent in the village along with the sad ones, Jungkook had only rough memories.

He didn't tell Taehyung that he hadn't smiled, laughed, or felt free even for a moment in the past months. He didn't tell his mate that he got nightmares and chose to stay up just to avoid dreaming things he didn't want to.

He didn't want to tell Taehyung that he hated himself whenever Mira came near him.

Partly, the reason was that Taehyung would feel bad, but the bigger reason was that he had thrown all of those dark moments out of himself. He didn't need them lingering with him when he had his biggest source of comfort with him. Rather, he suddenly had forgotten what it felt like to be alone as soon as he found his lover back.

There was a lot to tell that couldn't be told in a night.

They were living together anyway; there was no rush in any matter at all.

Jungkook had gone back to his own room last night after having put Taehyung to sleep. He went out of the door with a smiling face and relieved heart and came back to the room with the same happiness along with the excitement of seeing his petal.
