26. Lai Guanlin | Amusement Park

Summary: Going to the amusement park today was an exciting adventure for both of you. Guanlin couldn't think of any other way to spend his birthday than with you.

"Come on!" you said animatedly, dragging him by his long arm with haste. He couldn't help but laugh at your excitement, Guanlin's eyes soaking in your beauty as you smiled back at him.

It was a perfect plan you had to bring him to the amusement park today, but he was already enraptured by you, that the colourful rides and stalls surrounding you felt dull in comparison. This thought made Guanlin blush, his arm tugging you back softly as he came to a halt. You glanced up at him, your face so alive with anticipation. Shaking off his thoughts quickly, he smiled down at you.

"Yah, Y/N we have all day to play, slow down!"

And played you did. You went on all the rides, the ones that made you want to bury into each other with the exhilarated fear, and the others that made you giggle. The large Ferris Wheel had been a favourite, being able to snuggle up into each other as it took you around on a journey, gazing out into the amusement park and at each other.

Guanlin hadn't expected his first love to feel this sweet.

You had then eaten all the foods you wanted to, gone through all the little stalls that housed things to commemorate your visit, laughing as you dressed each other up in headpieces and jewellery.

You had made your way around this amusement park at least twice now. As the night air started to turn chilly, it was time to head home. Guanlin held your hand within his, smiling down at you every so often. Marvelling at how stark the difference was from when you arrived to now. Your feet were dragging; he knew you didn't want today to end either.

"Come on, I promised your Mum I'd have you back by ten," he mentioned, frowning as your eyes were no longer on his. "Y/N?"

"One last thing!" you cried, letting go of his hand and darting off to the right. He followed after you, wondering what had caught your attention so desperately.

Guanlin found you standing in front of a plush toy claw game, already slotting your money into the machine. "You know these games are rigged right? The probability of-"

His voice ceased as you cheered, thrusting your fist up into the air before diving into the slot to pull out your prize. You grinned triumphantly up at him. "I watched the last user and saw it was ready to win from."

"You never fail to surprise me," he admitted with a chuckle, watching as you snuggled the teddy plushie to yourself, planting a kiss on the top of its furry head a moment later. And then you held it out at him, Guanlin gingerly taking it. "But you won it, you should keep it?"

"For you, after all it's your birthday," you replied, a blush reaching your cheeks. He felt his own skin heat up with a shy happiness. You pointed at the teddy, chewing at your bottom lip momentarily before glancing up into his eyes. "I filled it with my love just now. So when we're not together, you have something to hug. Happy birthday Guanlin."

Instinctively he held the teddy more fondly at your words, unable to respond because he was so deliriously happy. Taking your hand back in his, he pulled you close to his side, both of you walking out of the amusement park with big smiles, your hands squeezing one another along the way as you both felt complete in your juvenile love.

It had been his best birthday yet.
