because it's your first day in universitywhen you reached your class, it is already half filledwhen you take a good look at which seat to take
you realized most of them know each other already

decided to sit in the middle, alone
as you patiently wait for the class to start
you took notice of those entering your class
until a familiar face appears

because you and daniel used to go to the same high school

back then, daniel is easily identified in school

apart from his face that looks badass enough

when you take a look outside, now you understand why you're almost done

from then on, you couldn't stop smiling
until you heard daniel said, "are you that happy?"
"yes of course! besides, that barista is cute though" and that didn't stop you from smiling
when you're leaving with daniel, that barista even waved to you
what a great way to end your studying session
"which way are you heading?" daniel stopped you
"that way, i'm heading to the bus stop. you're going another direction right?"
"i'll walk you to the bus stop then"
"it's okay! i can- let's go" daniel cut you off and started walking ahead of you
while you guys are heading to the bus stop
although the atmosphere is awkward between the both of you
but somehow it still feels warm and nice to have daniel around
especially the fact that he has wide shoulders that made him look super protective basically, you feel safe around his presence for some reason
and even when you're at the bus stop waiting
daniel insisted on waiting with you
not only that, daniel started taking off his jacket and putting over your shoulders
"i'm not cold, daniel. you can have this back"
just when you're about to remove it, daniel stopped you
"i didn't say you can take it off"
even when your bus arrived, daniel is still persistent in you keeping his jacket
okay fine
no big deal anyway
since the next day is cold too, you wore daniel's jacket to school and you thought that you should return when you see in class
and when you entered, you never noticed but daniel actually chuckled when he sees you
that oversized jacket made you look so tiny
and half of your body is covered by it
daniel couldn't help but to find you cute in his jacket
"thank you for your jacket last night" you smiled
and surprisingly, he is still not taking back his jacket
"you can keep it when we're doing our project later on"
after knowing that daniel is pretty stubborn, you give up and keep his jacket insteadunlike yesterday, the atmosphere changed for the better
daniel started talking to you a little more
and because of that, you started opening up to him as well
but the moment you saw the barista in the cafe again, you couldn't help but smile and blush
you never expected but he continued treating you a cup of tea
"you don't have to" you claimed when you saw the cup appearing in front of you
"i think you're making her uncomfortable" daniel interrupted

the barista eventually got back to his work while you guys continued doing your assignment
things were going well until daniel had a call
and he had to leave earlier
"you can go first! anyway, we are done"

"i'll be fine! i will leave after i finish packing up" you assured daniel
and as promised, you pack up as soon you could
but the barista is one step ahead of you
he stopped you from leaving
"here's my number, maybe we could hang out sometime?" he offered
he is probably the first guy that asked you out, who in the right mind would decline right?
things are happening faster than you thought
and you are gonna hang out with him tomorrow
butterflies started appearing in your stomach

you tried your best to hide your smile
but daniel eventually caught you and made you spill the tea
"alright, i will tell you. the barista asked me out and i'm going out with him later on"
"don't go, stay away from him. he is trying to take advantage of you"
you frowned at daniel's answer

and as planned, you still head to the cafe to find him
you decided to do some work while he finishes his shift
"i made this specially for you" he greeted you with his killer smile
but as soon as you drink it, you know you have fallen into his trap
for some reason, everything around started turning and you could no longer see anything clear

the barista is trying to take advantage of you after all
at that moment, you regretted so much
you should have listened to daniel but it's all too late
right before the moment where you knocked out, you saw a figure in front of you

but when you wake up, daniel's face is the first thing that you see
since he is just a few inches away from you, you pushed him hard out of shock
"wtf man! i saved you and is this how you thank me?"
after pushing him hard, that made you realized the situation
you saw daniel rubbing his back hard
you rushed to his side and help him up
"are you okay? i'm sorry" you apologized
"i should be the one asking if you're okay. i figured out that you wouldn't listen to me and thank god, i followed my gut feeling"
"but thankfully, you're safe now" daniel gave a pat on your head
other than feeling thankful, you're actually confused

"what's wrong? you okay there?" daniel looked you in the eye after noticing you dazing off
