it has probably been months ever since this zombie apocalypse took over your country
but this whole mess isn't gonna stop until god knows when
you're already mentally and physically drained
solely because you're constantly on the run
you can't even tell time because you're almost awake 24/7
you have to be on your toes because you have no idea when will those freaky zombies come and attack you
and the fact that you're the only one left in your family makes it even worse
your family got separated somehow and even till now, you haven't heard from them
you just didn't want to assume they are dead
although you wanna find them, but you know it's impossible with the number of zombies around
you have to constantly run because just within hours whenever you move to a new spot, infected zombies would come running towards you
in order to avoid them, the only way is to break into houses and stores to find a place to stay in
and if you break into stores that have guns or knife
you would definitely take that with you
a gun would probably only last you a day or two, so you always have to find replacement
so that's basically how your day would go
and today is like another day
walking aimlessly until you see walmart
that immediately put a smile on your face
it's always your favorite pastime to shop at walmart
because you know it's like a heaven
and even if you close your eyes, you know where each sector belongs to
so you quickly head to walmart
all the lights are out and it's really quiet
looking at the condition, you're pretty sure zombies are around
since you have been starving for days, you had no choice but to risk your life and make it to the food section
and the moment you see your favorite crackers, that's when you lost control
you devoured the whole packet but at the same time, that's when you realized someone is also busy stuffing food down his throat
he got a small face and yet he's stuffing food down his throat??
you stood there for a couple of minutes, deciding if you should approach him
but the moment he realized you are staring at him, the whole atmosphere turned kinda awkward
"erm hi?" he broke the silence
you know you really shouldn't be thinking about this but you realized he's really cute
"i can tell that you have been starving for days" you went to take a seat beside him
"oh yes, i'm so thankful for walmart now" he chuckled
you learned that his name is jinyoung and you told him yours
he told you he's in the same situation as you, being the only one left in his family
even though you just met jinyoung for 10 minutes, but you guys clicked almost immediately
as if you guys are friends for a long time
just when you're about to tell him how did you make it here, some of the cans from the shelves started dropping
that made your heart stop and it is jinyoung who stopped you from daydreaming
"we should get going" jinyoung whispered
as you got up, jinyoung grabbed your hand and run
the both of you started attracting attention while you guys run
and you know that if you catch one zombie's attention, it's over
more and more would tag along
jinyoung tighten his grip on your hand while he sees the number of zombies running after you guys
you guys eventually made it out and hide along one of the alleys
"you okay?" jinyoung asked
"yeah, but that was crazy" you guys broke out laughing
"we should go before they find us again. follow me"
as you spend more time with jinyoung, you not only realized he's cute, but he's really caring too
he is always walking close to you
he's constantly on the watch, just in case someone jumps and attacks you
jinyoung is such a great company and you wouldn't want to settle for anything less
you're gonna stick through thick and thin with jinyoung
although it's not the right timing to say this but you're starting to fall for him
and throughout the journey, he's like a walking human map
you have no idea which part of the town you're at but he could tell you straight the location of it
even so, you guys went into different houses but every single of them are filled with zombies
as time passes by, you guys realized there are more and more zombies around
this means that the chances of living are really low now
although you tried your best to stick beside jinyoung, but it's no longer useful
because the zombies are just attacking you guys in all directions
at first, you could still manage to shoot them off
or even slice them at their neck
but when they start hanging onto you, it's getting harder
no matter how you try shaking them off, they would still cling onto you
and because you're much smaller than jinyoung, he always have to save you
he has no choice but to kill them
and by the time he killed one, you are trying to fight another zombie
because of that, jinyoung took the gun and started rapid fire
although that made all the zombies dead, you accidentally got one of his shots
it hit your arm
"oh god, i'm so sorry y/n" his eyes immediately enlarged when he saw blood oozing out from your arm
"l-let's go, before they catch up again" you have to force yourself to go
you hook your arm over jinyoung while he supports you to a safer place
"i'm really sorry" you heard him say as he ripped the end of his jeans to tie your arm
"don't be, you tried saving me" you gave a weak smile
although your arm started to hurt like hell, but you guys got to move
"we have to go jinyoung"
you can tell from his expression that he really didn't want to but he still eventually help you up
you thought that as long as you're on the move away from the bunch of zombies just now, you guys would be safe
but that is so wrong
because of your wound, it attracted more zombies
"oh crap" jinyoung cursed when he see a few of them started approaching from far
"they love the smell of blood"
you guys started moving at a faster pace but your arm isn't cooperating
since you're losing blood, you're slowly got weaker
"j-jinyoung, i think you should just go, i can't go on anymore"
you reached a point where you think you no longer could go on
you're already sweating much more than jinyoung
and you thought it's better he should go you would be so selfish and drag him with you "no, i'm never leaving you, y/n."
instead, jinyoung kneeled down and told you to get on his back
"are you sure about this?" you hesitated
"yes, y/n, i'm not leaving without you. get onto my back, i'll be fine" he assured you
with that, you got onto his back and continued on with the journey
you wondered to yourself, what did you do to deserve such help?
jinyoung barely knew you but he treated you so well
you really couldn't help it but to fall even deeper for him, in the midst of all this mess
and even though jinyoung couldn't leave you behind, your condition isn't getting any better
you're starting to get sleepy and started lying your head against his back
"y/n? what's happening to you?" you heard jinyoung but you just didn't have the energy to reply
"please stay awake, i think i see help. just stay awake, y/n" despite saying so, you slowly drifted off to sleep but when you wake up, you see yourself being surrounded by white walls
does this mean you're in a safe place now?
"y/n! you're awake! how are you feeling?" jinyoung rushed to your side
"where am i?" you questioned
"we're at the hospital, we're safe now" he smiled at you
"thank you for saving me, jinyoung"
"don't mention it, of course i would save someone that i want to spend my future with" he said as he slip his hand into yours
you're just so glad that the nightmare has ended while your dream of being with jinyoung have just begin
