He wasn't normally this petty when it came to you. The emotion had bubbled up from somewhere over the past month, growing until he could no longer ignore it. For days he had been bitter whenever he saw you, faced with a heavy dose of jealousy, and worse, guilt.

Minhyun felt entirely frustrated with himself for letting this affect him. Especially since he always prided himself on being level-headed, even as a vampire. After all, he had taken you in five years ago, saving you from the wolves that had left you with barely an inch of your life. And instead of finishing you off, he had tolerated the burning thirst to nurse you back to health. He felt because of this, he had a lot of patience for you and your human characteristics. It was your beating heart, your warmth and your infectious cheerfulness that had made him fall in love with you completely. And over the past five years, you had never given him any reason to feel otherwise, your relationship making him feel less of a monster and more of a man.

But as you continued to talk about a fellow vampire Jihoon and your first team project at work for the umpteenth time, he groaned loudly. He had just wanted to snuggle with you until sleep arrived for you, not listen about your newly given position at the coven headquarters.

It made you stop and look at him with concern. "Are you okay?"

He shook his head roughly.

"What's wrong?" You wondered what could make your normally placid lover this irritable, racking your brain for signs of neglect. Poking him gently, Minhyun turned away from you. "Min, tell me."

"Get out."

"What?!" You sat up in your bed, your eyes flashing with panic and annoyance.

Glancing over his shoulder, his own umber orbs were thunderous. "Out. Now."

"You can't banish me! This is my bed too! Tell me what's going on?!"

"Fine!" He sat up and faced you, folding his arms firmly across his chest. "I don't want to hear a single word more about the coven. In this bedroom, we only discuss ourselves, have I made myself clear?"

You rolled your eyes and he gaped at the reaction, flinging the blankets back and shifting across to the plush armchair by the fireplace with a blink of an eye. You couldn't help but follow him, but at your much slower pace, giving the vampire a pout before you sat down on his lap. He grunted, his eyes narrow, and you could tell he wasn't angry at you.

But at himself.

Leaning in to slip your arms around Minhyun, you kissed his cheek and smiled when he let out a soft breath. Brushing his dark locks aside from his eyes, you tried hard not to smile at him, knowing he was dealing with inner troubles. "I'm sorry."

"You don't appear it; I can gather your amusement."

"I've just never seen you jealous befor-" He hissed as his eyes connected with yours and you stopped, smiling as you cupped his face gently in your hands. "You're rather cute right now."

"Cute," he repeated sourly, but you kept smiling, noticing that had he been able to, a tint of pink would have flushed his cheeks then. It made your lips curl up further. "I am not cute."

"No?" you asked and brushed your lips over his lightly. He didn't respond which made you frown. "What are you then?"

"Very pent up," he admitted with a growl and glanced up into your eyes, pleading with you to help him.

"I promise to stop talking about my work; it's nice to have more to do now that the coven trusts me. It's a relief to be accepted. But I can tell it's bothering you."

"It's not that which bothers me."

"And I shall make a point of never mentioning his name in our bedroom again," you confirmed, Minhyun believing you immediately. You had never given him a reason to doubt anything you said.

This seemed to ease him a little, but Minhyun grumbled, still annoyed with how rigid he felt.

Getting up off his lap as you sensed this, you held out your hand for him to take, smiling alluringly at him. "Should we go to bed now? I think you need to find a way to relax."

"And a release too?" he asked a little too earnestly, taking your hand and then picking you up effortlessly. You grinned, seeking his lips immediately.

You were soon both back on the bed and as he laid you down, you reached for him again, lingering your mouth around his ear. "After this session, you'll never think to try and banish me from this bed again."
