"did you hear about the news? woojin will be in our class" you overheard your classmate's conversation
that caught your attention because woojin is always a hot topic in school
woojin is known to be that bad boy
and what makes him even scarier is his personality
he acts really cold in front of almost everyone
because of that, everyone is afraid of him
no one and i really mean, no one dares to go near woojin
while there's you
unlike everyone else, you are not scared of woojin
whenever your friends see woojin approaching, they would look down or even run away
but for you, you just couldn't understand a thing
so what if he looks like a bad boy?
"woojin is okay! what about him is so scary? as far as i know, he isn't picking on anyone!" you openly told your friends
"keep quiet y/n! woojin might hear you!" your friend gave you a tight slap on your back
that instantly made you rolled your eyes
you sighed at your friend's behavior
you just don't understand
eventually, woojin really did appear in your class
and that itself caused a lot of commotion
when he entered the class, everyone went quiet
the volume in the class immediately went down to zero
just when you wondered what happened, a fist slammed hard onto your desk
you immediately frown and when you look up, it's none other than park woojin
woojin is already staring hard at you
"i heard you're not afraid of me huh"
you could feel stares from your classmates
and you couldn't help but to gulp nervously

with that, woojin took a seat behind you
at that moment, you still didn't realize how much trouble you got yourself into with park woojin
not until class starts
while you're trying your best to catch up with class
someone started kicking your chair

the day has barely started and yet woojin is making you suffer already

woojin slammed his lunch plate and sat opposite of you
"i don't remember saying that you can eat here" woojin started
you started getting annoyed at his nonsense which made you stare at him
"then what do you want me to do?"

"nothing, i just want to have a good lunch, y/n" woojin laughed at the sight of your appearance
you felt nothing but shame
because you're pretty sure you got kimchi all over your face
you heard some of the students snickering at you while you heard some of them trying to pity you
you quickly run off to the toilet to hide
thankfully, the food stains are easy to wash off your face
and as you exit the washroom, jaehwan called you
"i saw what happened... are you okay?" he asked as he placed his hands on your shoulders
"yeah i'm fine! why wouldn't i be!" you forced a smile
you told yourself that after today, woojin would be done
as long as you're ignoring him, you thought woojin would get bored and eventually give up
but guess what
as each day pass, things are getting even worse
woojin would always push his boundaries and start doing dirty tricks on you
everything you can think of, woojin is doing it
things like finding your books in the bin instead
casually pushing you and tripping you
tearing your notes apart
basically, anything and everything woojin has done it to make your life terrible
and even though your life is miserable, jaehwan is also there for you
without fail, jaehwan would stand up for you
you could tell he is trying his best to protect you
but woojin would still have his way
and it has become a habit that jaehwan would send you home
even when none of you said anything, his accompany is more than enough
it makes the atmosphere is warm
you're so thankful that jaehwan is there for you
and he would always check on you if you're doing fine
not to mention, he is also someone that you could definitely lean on
"are you sure you're okay, y/n? i just want you to be fine" jaehwan asked
and that is all is needed to make you break down
you felt your tears filling up your eyes and everything became so blur
jaehwan noticed that and immediately brought you into his arms
he gave you a tight hug and you cried even harder on his shoulder
"just let it all out, y/n... it must be hard for you"
jaehwan would occasionally pat on your back and that small gesture did make you feel better
"thank you for being here for me..." you sighed
that's the first time you actually cried in front of jaehwan
you always wanted to keep your troubles to yourself
but when you see how jaehwan care for you, you just couldn't help but to think of all those times where woojin is making your life tough
and when the next day arrives
you did feel a little better
but the moment you see woojin, your mood went straight down again
you're just sick of his tricks
or maybe, just sick of seeing him
and as usual, woojin carried on disturbing you
but what you would least expect is jaehwan to fight for you
it was the end of the class
and your teacher have dismissed everyone
woojin was pulling your ponytail all along
until you heard jaehwan slamming his hand hard on the task
"PARK WOOJIN STOP!"
seeing jaehwan shout is already shocking enough
but seeing jaehwan punching woojin across his cheek is a whole new level
"how many times must i tell you to leave y/n alone?" jaehwan yelled while woojin is busy trying to get a grip
"who the hell are you to tell me what to do!" with that, woojin gave jaehwan a punch back
although you're in a shock but you know you have to stop them
just before jaehwan wanted to push woojin away
you quickly went over to jaehwan and stop him
"p-please stop" you stuttered
jaehwan took a good look at you and that's when he realized he made you scared
when the both of you exchanged eye contact, you also realized his lips is bleeding
"let's go jaehwan, let's not waste our time here" you ushered jaehwan to the school's clinic
knowing that the nurse is out for lunch, you started mending jaehwan's wounds on your own
at the same time, you don't know if you're thinking too much or not
but you could feel your heart beat accelerating
the distance between you and jaehwan's face is probably less than 10cm
and knowing that jaehwan is looking at you is making you even more nervous than before
"thank you for being there for me... but you don't have to get into a fight because of me, i got really worried for you" you sighed
"do you know why i wanted to get into a fight?"
"because i can't stand seeing you get hurt, i don't want the person that i like getting hurt"
you swear your eyes widen when you heard jaehwan's words
"w-what?" you looked into his eyes and that is when you know what he said is real
"i like you, y/n and i don't ever want to see you get hurt" jaehwan confessed
just then, the school's doctor came back and the both of you had to leave
while the both of you walked back to class together
the atmosphere turned awkward for the first time
you didn't know how to reply to jaehwan's confession
and you wondered if you feel the same way
out of 10 times, you know for all 10 times, your heart is beating fast whenever you're with jaehwan
does this means... you like him too?
in the midst of trying to figure out your feelings, woojin stopped you
"can we talk, y/n?"
"i don't think there's anything we can talk about, woojin"
"just 1 minute, please"
"i'm sorry for making your life terrible... i got so carried away and i didn't know how to stop"
"when i first heard you're the only girl that isn't afraid of me, i got interested in you already"
"and seeing how you're getting closer to jaehwan each day makes me even more jealous of him... and that's when i realized my feelings for you is real"
after hearing what woojin said, you're just so overwhelmed

but when you listen to your heart, your heart is telling you a clear answer
"i'm sorry woojin but i have someone else in mind..." with that, you walked past him and started running towards your happiness
"jaehwan!" you giggled as you called him
you're more than sure he is the guy that you want to be with
you're more than sure he is the guy that you want to protect

"what happened! did woojin bully you again?" jaehwan asked
"no but he confessed to me..."
you swear at that moment, you saw how jaehwan's face drop and disappointment is written all over his face
"but i told him i like someone else and that someone else is you, jaehwan" you smiled
"i'm going to protect you with all my heart, y/n!" with that, jaehwan wrapped you with his arms
