"Please sign here and here and your free to go". The nurses said as they handed me my discharge papers. After I signed them they both wished me good luck and goodbye. I thanked them for taking care of me this past month and then walked away. Leaving the hospital and entering the parking lot to meet my car in a very dark corner the same spot I asked them not to bring it.
I took a deep breath and quickly walked over and got in. I then begin driving home. As i pulled up to a red light the image of fire and flames came to mind and it feel like my body was hot. I got startled and then realized I was day dreaming and that the lights on green so I continued on driving. I tried not to think of it and shook it off just to clear my mind.
As I arrived home it kinda felt nostalgic since i haven't been here for a hot while. I then took my bags out the car and carried them in locking the doors behind me. "Im so tired. I just want to sleep". I said as I took off all my clothes and headed for the shower. I sat down on the floor and turned the water on just letting it run over me and I closed my eyes to take in everything thats going on.
After an hour of showering I came out the bathroom and went to my bedroom to get dressed. I took a towel and wrapped it around my hair whiles I throw on some night pjs. I then went to the kitchen to see if there's anything in here to eat. As expected theres nothing. I would be more surprised if something was here. So I plopped dow on the couch and ordered me some pizza.
I sat down in the living room quietly just waiting on the pizza to arrive. About five minutes later I heard my doorbell rang. Even though I was expecting someone I still got paranoid. So i took a knife from the kitchen and hold it behind my back carefully walking towards the door. I slowly opened the door to see the pizza in the person hands so I let out a sigh of relief and opened the door. "Thank-" I paused my words when I saw hawks at my door with my pizza in his hand.
"Hey there". He said as he rudely pushed himself in. So i just closed the door and came back to the living room. " I know your wondering why do i have your pizza in your hand and how I know where you live. But that's a story to tell another time". He said resting down the box on the coffee table. I was still shaking up a bit so i just sat back down saying "thank you." "Nah don mention it. Ive been meaning to see you". He said as he sat next to me.
I took a slice eating asking "what for"? " I heard of everything that went down with ya. Kinda badass of you to still be alive right now". We both laughed before he said "but seriously your my partner so i do care about your well-being. Sorry for not being able to help you." "No, don't feel sorry its not your fault". I suddenly got a flashback when i said those words to him that night.
Snapping me out of my gaze hawk then removes his coat and shoes saying "I'm spending the night regardless of your answer. Im not going to get wet in that storm thats passing by tonight." I didn't even know about any storm and I would kinda feel bad sending my boss out like that so I allowed him to stay. We spent the whole night talking laughing and drinking. It all went by so fast I didn't even realize when we both passed out on the couch.
The next day the sounds of roosters woke me up as the sun shined on my face. I tried to sit up only to realize I'm pinned to the couch by hawks arms. He had his arms around me as we slept. "What happened last night". Looking next to me lys his face peacefully sleeping. We were so close to each other. Ours noses practically touching. I tried to turn away from him to get up but my movement cause him to wrap his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him.
I was slightly panicking and also wondering why he does this in his sleep. I didn't want to wake him so i just fell back asleep until he wakes up. After about 30 mins he awoken. He walk's straight into the kitchen looking for breakfast. "Why don't you have food in this house?" I got up saying "I haven't been home in so long why would I leave food here. "Ughh lets go" he said as he grabbed me up to go to the food store. "Wait I'm still in pjs". I said. He replied saying you look good in it don't worry." I side eye him to see his reaction but he look like he meant what he said so I thanked him. "Im still gonna change though". I quickly went and put on a bright dress and went out.
"So whatcha think?" I ask spinning around showing off my dress. "You look like a banana". He said before bursting out into laughter. "You're no fun" I said slightly pushing past him. He laughed saying "I would push you back but you just got discharged and your fragile right now". Sitting in the car waiting for him to get in I yelled "DONT DESCRIBE ME AS NO PACKAGE YOU ORDERED". He laughs as he locked the door saying "coming!"
