IN THE LATE AFTERNOON, Charlotte had picked up Thea from her home and the girls were walking down the street together to head to Junk N Stuff for work.

As Charlotte was talking away about something that Thea pretty much zoned out until she heard a notification from her phone. She checked her messages to see it was Zach.

zach
can you go to grocery store near
that junk store and get me some apple juice?

why can't you go get it?

because i'm at jett's
and the grocery store
near him sells crappy apple juice

fine. pay me back later?

👍

Thea released a sigh when the pair just happened to be coming close to the mini grocery store that was a few blocks away from Junk N Stuff. Just before she could tell Charlotte to stop by the shop, her voice got stuck in her throat when she caught sight of Caden working there.

How come whenever she goes to a store, Caden just happened to be there?

"—then my Uncle Rosco leaned against the table and it snapped—"

Thea cut off Charlotte's interesting story about her overweight Uncle. "That's great, yeah. Hey listen, I have to pick up something in that store."

"What do you have to pick up?"

"It's for Zach. He texted me that he wants me to buy him his special apple juice. So, I'll meet you down in the Man Cave in a few."

"I'll go in with you."

Thea stopped her. "Why?"

Charlotte paused at Thea's tensed reaction. "Because the shop is just three blocks from Junk N Stuff and I don't want to go in there alone."

"Junk N Stuff is good. There's junk and. . .stuff," She tried to convince her but her friend sent her an unimpressed look. "You know what, I don't have to go in. I'll tell Zach it's closed for the day."

Noticing that Thea for some reason didn't want her to follow her into the store, Charlotte jutted her thumb behind her. "Okay, then. I'll guess that I'll head to Junk N Stuff myself."

Thea grinned. "Awesome. Now, go on." She motioned her friend down the street.

"Bye. . .freak." Charlotte murmured the last part under her breath and headed down the street to head to the junk store to meet her friends.

The girl didn't want Charlotte to follow he into the grocery store, knowing her friend would immediately tell Henry about Caden being there and Thea was well aware how easily jealous Henry can get. Secondly, she kinda wanted to ask Caden for some advice.

Opening the door, Thea gently pushed her way through the numerous of customers doing their weekly shopping. Her eyes wandered to Caden who was behind the cashier as she stood in the corner of the store. Feeling a pair of eyes on him, the curly haired male looked up to see Thea standing there and before he could send her a friendly wave, the girl bolted down the aisle.
