Annabeth Chase

Aileen groans as she looks with a blank expression at the practice questions. I can't believe she is almost sixteen and has great trouble answering simple questions from Junior High School tests. The list I prepared should be very simple, but when I sat down with Aileen in her awesome library... it has been an uphill battle from the get go. She drops her pen and puts her head face down on the desk.

"I give up! Please, help your girlfriend!" she groans out. "Aileen, this isn't a good sign. You were barely able to make those fifth grade tests..."

"You'll teach me, right? You know, I skipped a lot of classes and never went to High School. Teach me, oh, great Wise One!" she pleads to me, almost begs to me. Gods, she really knows how to pull on my heart strings.

"Fine. I'll start preparing classes for you, but you better be on time and no complaining!" I warn her with a pointed finger. Aileen nods enthusiastically as she jumps to me to give a hug of such warmth, placing a kiss on my cheek. Ah... I am totally whipped. Who can withstand such affection?

"I'm in your debt! You'll get something amazing from me! Not sure what, but I will do my best," she says with determination. Gods that makes me blush. "Just pay attention during my classes. You know I try to find any excuse to spend time with you, dummy. Why do you even want to do this?" I say as I kiss her on the forehead. She may be a dummy, but at least she is my dummy.

"Hades expects me to learn what I missed... to be the best I can be. So, I will plow forward under your guidance!" I roll my eyes. "It would make my life easier if I knew what you're aiming for. Do you want to go to college or something else?"

Aileen leans on the desk with one arm and head on her hand. "Hmm... I don't know. I think I would want to do something with music."

"I can't help with that, Aileen..." She smiles a bit. "I need an audience. Very important for motivation," she explains, taking my hand to intertwine our fingers. Okay, heart... calm down. No need to get a heart attack. "I'd love to watch and hear it."

"Good, then please teach me, so I can survive in this world! By the way, I'd love to hear why you fell for me," she says. My cheeks are burning hot, Gods, she really is blunt. As always.  "W-where did that come from?"

"Annabeth, I dare say you could get anyone you wish. Truly. Why someone like me that can barely pass a fifth grade test?" She asks with a chuckle. I smile softly as I take her hand to play with her fingers. "Your heart is in the perfect place, Aileen. You kept me safe, tried to make me happy, and always stand ready to do something to ease my worries... It is a wonder that I could get you for myself," I explained.

A blinding smile is forming on Aileen as she looks at me. "That's amazing to hear. Say, what I am really curious about is how you managed to set everything up last week. Please indulge me and explain it!" She says as she looks with puppy dog eyes at me. Damn those puppy dog eyes and that cute face of hers! How can I refuse...?

I sigh as I lean back in the chair. "Well, I really had to put my back into it to get things ready..."

Last week

I looked at my to do list. Several things were already taken care off...

To do list:

- Make a deal with the Stoll twins to smuggle in food (Done)

- Ask the Aphrodite cabin for a plan (Done, but stupid Aphrodite cabin were too excited and could not focus)

- Prepare the location for the picnic (Partially done)

- Make an appointment for clothes and make-up (Done, side note: bring something to keep the perfume in the cabin away from my nostrils)

- Motivational speech in front of the mirror before going to Aileen

Everything is going well. Now, I just got to make sure the bribe is ready. I am not entirely sure what it will be used for, but the Stoll twins asked for a map of the campgrounds. Easy enough to arrange, there are various copies in our cabin. Just not entirely sure what they need it for. Probably for some pranks if I had to guess.

The hardest part was finding that flower field. I got lucky when I stumbled on to the clearing. During my search, I thought I heard a woman humming. There was no woman when I reached the clearing, but I certainly was glad when I found it.

I take a deep breath and put the paper piece with the list into my pocket. Let's get the last things squared away. First, placing the food near the creek I found. For that, I need to meet with the Stroll brothers. After that, I need to survive the Aphrodite cabin, again.

Those girls and boys... it seems they live off my misery when it comes to romance. Also, that cabin stinks to Olympus from the perfume. I am crossing so many personal boundaries for... love. She better become nice and... and comforting! Scary mother or not!

I pick up the map and a net to keep the insects away till I get there with Aileen. As I exit my cabin, I briefly look around to see whether Aileen is close by, but she is nowhere to be found. Good. I rather not want her to see me dealing with the twins. She already saw me going to cabin of Aphrodite too many times. It was heartwarming to see her sort of stalking me... and that she seems to scold herself for doing it. Alright, first up, the food and then not dying by perfume poising!

Current time

... that is pretty much the gist of how I organized it," I finish explaining. As I told her a brief summary, she has been smiling like a love struck fool. My heart pounds in happiness as I see it. Aileen is such a gem.

"That's so cute, Annabeth! You even made a list! I can't even describe how happy this makes me," she says, arms going around me for a deep hug. "The next date is for you to organize. I have done things I rather not do again..." Aileen nods with a bright smile. "I will! I love you, Annabeth!"
