Aileen "Pistis" Corvius
The Gods were assembled in the hall of the Gods. Each sitting in their respective seat. A lot more people were present than I first thought. Thalia with the Hunters, Tyson with Cyclopes, and of course, me along with the Demigod. Finally, there is Grover with the many nature spirits. There were also a few Gods that took part in the battle; Persephone, but she stood mainly next to her wife Hades. It is not done to have another God standing next to a throne, but an exception was made this time.
The other Gods were Calypso, but she was practically cradling Bianca. And Hecate who stood near her children. Zagreus held himself in the background as he stood near the heart with Hestia. She was happily hosting him as she gave drinks, food, and overall a pleasant stay at the heart.
"Long-winded speech," I mumble very softly to Annabeth. She nods as she watches Zeus talk about how they fought Typhon and how heroic their battle was. Talk about pride and arrogance. Even Hades was getting bored as she sat on her throne. The other Gods didn't show it like Hades, but they agree. They probably had sat through many of them over the years.
I glance around the crowd to see who stands around me. Not too far away was Thalia who stands in front of the Hunters. I can tell she was bored. Even she would rather be fighting or hunting I suspect. I agree Zeus is rather longwinded. On my right, I see my siblings. Bianca was not listening at all as she softly giggles with Calypso. Nico was also not very present as he looks at Aphrodite. They were sharing looks and smiles. Yeah, he is so whipped. I am surprised that Aphrodite is so... well, happy and content? At least for now.
"I'll be right back. Going to Thalia for a moment," I say to Annabeth before going over to her. It wouldn't take long before I stood next to Thalia that glanced at me curiously.
"Red hair," Thalia greets me.
"Former tree person," I greet her back. Thalia smiles as she looks toward her father again. He is still going and probably will for at least a few minutes.
"What are you doing over here? Isn't there someone that you should hold close to?"
"I will hold her close soon again, but I wanted to ask you something. What were you doing during the final battle?"
Thalia took a deep breath as she looks at the Hunters. Now that I stand close but the number of Hunters seems less than before. They fought the Titan's army or a very strong monster is my guess.
"Artemis had to join in the fight against Typhon. She ordered us to reinforce Hades' army, but Kronos intercepted us when we met the Nature spirits. We were hopelessly outmatched. At least we took out a good portion of the army, but at a high cost. I lost a third of my sisters that day. Let alone the dozens of nature spirits that fell," Thalia explained. Her voice is strained and filled with loss. A sense of loss but failure too as they died under her watch.
"Not your fault. Even I and Hades were not enough to stop Kronos. It took Annabeth's selflessness. Honor their sacrifice, Thalia, let them fuel you to do better."
"Pistis is right, Thalia. I lost many fellow sisters on the hunt over the years. It made me work harder to be worthy. You will learn and be better. Lady Artemis chose well if thy feel responsible. As it should be," Zoe states as she joined us, a hand placed on Thalia's shoulder.
"I know. I will be better and stronger. Thank you, Nightshade. Your opinion matters a lot to me," Thalia says. She swings an arm around Zoe as she smiles at the former Lieutenant.
"We will speak again later. Your dad is finishing his tale about himself, finally," I say as I slip back to Annabeth. Thalia sighed in relief. "Thank fuck..." Thalia whispers to herself.
