Chapter 27: Quidditch Try Outs

Hermione looks over at the Slytherin table where Draco's seated with his back towards her. Hermione sighs as she shakes her head. He hasn't said a word to her the past week. He hasn't even so much as looked at her. It frustrates her, but she's not going to go up to him to talk things through. If he doesn't want to talk, if he doesn't take the effort to come up to her first, she's apparently not worth the effort.

'You okay?' Ginny whispers.

Hermione turns to look at her and gives her a small smile.

'I'm fine.'

Ginny shakes her head before turning back to her breakfast.

'Are you going to Hogsmeade?'

'Yeah, Blaise asked me if I wanted to go with him.' Hermione shrugs.

'He'll probably want to talk about Malfoy.' Ginny whispers.

'I'm sure he wants to.' Hermione nods.

'Are you sure that's a good idea?' Ginny asks.

Hermione shrugs.

'I just want to know if he's doing alright.' Hermione sighs.

'Do you want me to ask him?'

'No, it's fine. Thank you though.'

Ginny nods.

'Will you be okay?'

'I'll be fine. It's Blaise, he a good guy.' Hermione smiles.

Ginny nods again as she takes a bite of her toast.

'He'll turn around, eventually.'

'He's just so stubborn.' Hermione sighs.

'I said eventually.' Ginny winks.

Hermione gives her a small smile before looking back over at the Slytherin table, just catching Draco's eye before he turns back around to face Blaise.

'Hey.' Blaise smiles as Hermione walks up to him in The Three Broomsticks that afternoon.

'Hey, how are you?' Hermione asks as she sits down.

'I'm fine, thanks, what about you?'

'Could be better.'

Blaise nods. 'Understandable.'

'How's Draco?'

'Not so good.' Blaise sighs.

Hermione bites her lip.

'He misses you.'

'Well if he does, he knows where my room is.'

'He's too stubborn.'

'I know he is and it's bloody annoying.'

Blaise chuckles. 'I can imagine.'

'He still feels guilty though.' Blaise sighs. 'He can't get over the fact that he fell for it all. That he hurt you like that.'

Hermione shakes her head. 'I told him it was okay many times, he just doesn't want to listen.'

Blaise nods, taking a sip of his butterbeer. 'Like I said, he's stubborn.'

Hermione chuckles. 'He certainly is.'

'It's frustrating. I want to talk to him, I can see he's not doing good.'

'Why don't you go to him?'

'Because.'

'Great reason!'
