"Hey, uh, are you home...?"

"Yes, why?" Oliver asked the girl on the other end of the line, hearing a sigh of relief from her as she requested, "Can you come meet me in the hall?"

"Okay." He obliged, hanging up the phone and walking out to the hallway where Sara stood, looking anxious, though seeming to calm upon seeing the blond.

He raised an eyebrow, "What's up?"

She mumbled something incoherent, avoiding his eye and looking rather shy, making his brow furrow, "Uh... Care to repeat that? I can't hear you, Sara."

"I'm locked out, okay??" She exclaims in embarrassment, face red as she locks eyes with him, "Do you have the spare key I gave you?"

The boy nodded, rather unfazed considering she had given him the key for exactly this situation in the first place, "Yeah, hold on."

After returning back into his own apartment and finding the key upon digging around his desk drawer, he returned, unlocking the door for her before tilting his head slightly, "Couldn't your dad let you in or something?"

"He's working," she sighed, "I tried to call him but he told me to ask you since he couldn't leave just to come unlock the door because I was dumb enough to forget my keys."

"You're not dumb," he assures, "it happens to everyone. That's why I have a key, anyway."

Sara locks eyes with him, giving a small grateful smile, "Thanks, Oliver."

The rather uncharacteristic use of his actual name almost caught him off guard, blinking once, twice, three times before shaking out of the slight disorientation, "Uh, y-yeah, no problem..."

"Is there anything I can do to thank you? Maybe make dinner or something? I was gonna be cooking tonight for my dad and I anyway, you're welcome to come in and have a plate."

"I mean, as long as I'm not intruding-" The younger began, cheeks slightly pink as Sara interrupts, "No, no, not at all! My dad's not even getting home for another hour or two anyway, there's nothing to intrude on."

A smile worked it's way onto Oliver's lips, the boy nodding, "Then yeah, sure."

She smiled back, gesturing him inside as she stepped into the apartment and began walking to the kitchen, tying on an apron.

"You can make yourself at home while I cook, if you want I can grab my dad's guitar, he did say you could play anytime!" The redhead offered, grinning slightly as he sat on the couch.

He hesitated, "Are you sure...?"

"Of course!" She giggled, joking, "You can serenade me while I cook!"

A small chuckle before she looked over with a more genuine smile, "I'm just messing, but I do like hearing you play, if you'd want to."

This caused heat to begin rising to Oliver's cheeks, and obviously he couldn't say no at that point, "As long as you're sure that's okay, that could be fun...!"

She clapped her hands together, grinning widely and speeding into her dad's room, returning with the bright red guitar that shined in the light that passed through the window as she handed it off to the boy sitting on the couch. Her hands lightly brushed against his as he released it into his grip, making both of them blush slightly before Sara turned back to the kitchen to begin making their night's meal.

"I have a feeling you'll know this one," he smiles, and beginning to pluck at the chords, his voice accompanying somewhat shyly, the familiar tune of "Somebody to Love" by Queen began filling the room.

Sara smiled widely, teasing, "Love songs, huh? Who knew you were such a sap, Subwayboy!"

He playfully rolls his eyes at this, continuing the song, though she now sang along as well, helping the blond to come out of his shell a little bit more with his own singing.

As the redhead continued to cook, sizzling and the clacking of cookware sounded from the kitchen. However, it was greatly outweighed by the sounds of laughter and music, with the apartment feeling more alive than it had in quite a long time as their joy echoed through the halls.

Maybe Sara Lin would have to forget her keys at home more often.
