(Full disclaimer, this is not very accurate to the characters, and you obviously don't have to read this if you don't like the ship. Homophobia of any sort will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate block for so much as a passive comment.)

(This takes place a month or so after the last chapter after a rough day of too much work and overwhelming overthinking)

"I needed this, thanks, Patrick...." Oliver mumbled, hugging the hoodie borrowed from the boy tightly into himself as they walked through the open field side by side.

"No problem, it's nice out here and you obviously needed a break," Pat shrugged, smiling slightly.

He sits down on the grass a moment later, Oliver doing the same just as the brunette at his side laid back into the cool spring grass gazing up at the stars above, just barely showing in the navy sky as the sun set below before their eyes. The younger boy stayed sitting up, instead watching the sunset, deep in his thoughts.

Of course, it didn't help either of them that all they could think of was how romantic the atmosphere would be if one of them could just get their nerve up and-

"Sunset's pretty....." Patrick murmured quietly, sitting back up as Oliver hummed in agreement without looking at him.

"Wish you were here with someone else?" The blond chuckled bitterly, a sour taste in his mouth as the words escaped his lips.

The other stayed silent for a moment, confusing Oliver until he spoke back, quiet, "not really..."

Considering he had been confused during his silence, he only grew to be completely baffled by his words once Patrick DID speak. The shorter of the two stayed quiet, unsure of exactly what to say in response, instead just watching as the sun continued setting. Once the sky began going dark a few minutes later, only a small trace of light remaining by the horizon, Oliver stood, Patrick doing the same after he noticed.

"We should probably head back, it's gonna be dark soon," he said, the more rational of the two as always.

The other boy nodded back as they stretched, standing in silence for a moment. Looking up from the ground to meet Patrick's eyes for the first time that day, he smiled at him, making a small blush form across his cheeks.

And yet, he couldn't bring himself to look away or even begin walking back, locked in on the beautiful blue irises that infected more thoughts than he'd care to admit.

Before either of them could process what was happening, Oliver took gentle hold of Patrick's face and quickly leaned in, pressing their lips together without thinking, his eyes tightly shut. The taller boy's eyes widened in shock, frozen in place until Oliver's opened, realizing what he had just done as he quickly pulled away, both of them staring with wide eyes, blushing heavily.

"O-Oh my...." Oliver started quietly before trailing off, staring with large guilty eyes before starting to walk backward, "I-I'm so sorry..."

His voice quieting more by the end of the statement, he turned and began running as fast as he could before Patrick called, still somehow unable to bring himself to move, "O-Oliver wait!"

"Crap, what did I just do?!" The blond spoke quietly to himself, tangling his fingers into his hair once he stopped as he found himself a good distance away.

"God, I'll never be able to face him again...." He mumbled out quietly, continuing to walk back home with his head hung low in shame, fighting tears that he knew were attempting to form in this stress.

Meanwhile, Patrick had sat back down in the field despite the sky getting darker by the minute, still trying to process what on earth had just happened. He let his fingers hover and brush the slightly-parted lips that had just been kissed by his dear friend whom he held close.... And not to mention, the friend that he had finally admitted he had a massive crush on....

He could hardly believe what had just happened despite pinching himself numerous times to ensure it wasn't some crazy dream. Surely Oliver would avoid him after running off like that..... How on earth was he supposed to talk to him about this if he probably wouldn't even be willing to look at him?

Hey y'all!

First off, Happy Pride Month to all my fellow LGBTQ+ friends here, and second I just wanna give a thanks to all our allies that fight for us :)

This is the second part of a four-part mini-series, I'll be posting the final part on the last day of pride month! Fun Fact: This part and the next one are both based off a dream I had about a year ago!!!

I hope y'all liked it, maybe I even opened a few of you up to a new ship :) Please leave any ideas, prompts, or constructive criticism in the comments, I love hearing your feedback!
