"Hello there, my smart, amazing and extremely helpful friend!" Sara Lin greeted Oliver happily as he walked into her apartment for a movie day, rolling his eyes playfully, "Hello there, thorn in my side."

"Rude!" She gave a fake offended gasp, gently smacking his shoulder.

He chuckles, his gaze lingering on her for another moment with his face softening into a smile. This makes Sara immediately go bright red, looking down to her feet.

She hid the side of her face as she spoke, flustered, "S-Stop looking at me like that...!"

Another small laugh escapes his lips, "Whatever you say."

The ginger mumbled incoherently, even unintelligible to herself, grabbing his wrist and tugging him into her room, shutting the door quietly behind them and sitting down on the bed.

A smile cracks through her teeth as she opens the screen of her laptop, pulling up a movie. She laid down on her stomach just in front of the device, and it's not long before he follows along and does the same, though they're slightly cramped on the small bed, basically totally pressed against one another's sides. Not that either of them minded that, of course.

For a little bit they simply lay and watch, but within a few minutes the girl's chin is resting on her folded arms with her head tilting to lean on Oliver's shoulder. By now, this wasn't necessarily unusual practice for them, but nonetheless it made Sara's heart flutter with such close contact, craving more while simultaneously worsening the pit in her stomach that formed whenever she tried to figure out what the heck they were. What she didn't realize, however, was that as she leaned on him, he was left feeling the same exact way.

"Can I ask you something?" The redhead asked quietly before she even realized the words had left her lips, nearly catching herself off guard.

He leans forward and pauses the movie, though he doesn't switch the position they laid in as Sara feels him looking at her, "What's up?"

"Would you be mad if I possibly put you in an uncomfortable position with this question?" She questioned again, half-heartedly.

"Uh... I guess it depends on the question?" He replied, now confused, "But just ask, I promise not to get mad or anything."

Silent agreement, and momentary hesitance, "Are you interested in me?"

The quiet between them rang with surprise on both ends that she had truly asked that, until a moment later he asked, "...Why?"

"I guess I just want to know. I may have read it wrong, but I'm pretty sure you've almost kissed me a handful of times, and you always let me do affectionate stuff. I guess how you look at me too, like earlier, and how you talk and act around me as well." The girl shrugged, trying to rationalize the question despite her nerves.

More silence.

"...Are you interested in me?"

Tension lingered throughout the air, and after a second, still not having looked at him, she subtly nodded from against his t-shirt sleeve.

He doesn't respond to her nod for a second, but then, replying to the initial question, "Yes, I am."

"Was I reading those times wrong?" She asked yet another question.

This time his nerves were obvious no matter how much he tried to mask them, "No..."

"Did you know I was interested?" She asked, despite knowing that she barely even tried to hide her feelings

"...." For a moment, he pauses, maybe trying to recall how he had thought of it before now, maybe worried about embarrassing her with the answer. Who knows. Certainly not Sara at that moment. "I can't say I knew, but I also definitely can't say I never suspected it."

Giving a small hum in surprise, "I'm shocked you didn't completely know. I was obvious about it."

"So you wanted me to know?" He flips the roles, him now the one asking the questions.

She shrugged once more, "I guess it's less than I wanted you to know and more that I didn't feel the need to hide it. You were decently obvious yourself."

"Why didn't you ever just tell me then?" His voice softens, making the blush on Sara's cheeks return once more as she mutters in response, "I guess I didn't wanna make you uncomfortable. You've always been so opposed to romance and everything as long as I've known you and I didn't want to push anything since I knew about your family and all. That only kinda changed in the last few weeks when you started acting on stuff a little more."

"How do you feel now?"

"I guess relieved. It's nice to just have it out there and finally know for sure where you stand. You?" She questions back.

"Considering I tried to be more secretive, also very relieved," the blond hummed in agreement.

Finally leaning her head off of him, the girl met Oliver's eyes for the first time since they had sat down, only to let her gaze flicker to his lips and murmur as she noticed him drifting closer, "Am I reading this time wrong?"

"No," the younger boy just barely managed to croak out, and with the confirmation, she gave into the temptations and closed the gap that had been painfully abridged between them for longer than either of them could stand.

He leaned into the kiss earnestly, like he had been starved of her touch for decades, like he had been left in limbo, waiting for this for who knows how long. Sara returned it with just as much enthusiasm, the fluttering of bliss and ecstaticity in her stomach as she allowed herself to relax into it.

The moment they pull apart, she continued to look down at the lips that had become just a little more moisturized by the chapstick she had been wearing, saying softly, "You know, if you had gone through with it any of those other times I wouldn't have stopped you."

"It was just such bad timing, and I was never really sure if you wanted it," he said back, nearly-whispering as he looked down to her lips that were also bent into a smile.

"I most definitely did," she giggled out, nudging his shoulder with her own, sitting up while he did the same as she continued, "at least now we have all the time in the world."

Without a word in response he only leans back in and the girl does the same, lips pressing together and both of them savoring the experience more and more with every passing moment.
