*Trigger Warning: Discussion of death*

Finishing up their quiet walk home from the school, Oliver and Sara stepped into the elevator to get up to their floor in the building. Both of them were rather tired from the very eventful night that had just occurred, but they still wanted to be together so though they had left early they decided to go back to Oliver's apartment since he had it to himself for the night.

As the elevator dinged, Sara turned to Oliver, "hey, wanna come into my apartment for a minute while I get some stuff? I'm sure my dad wants to see you," she giggled out.

Nodding back to her, the boy responded, "sure, he made me promise to see him after I gave you the ring anyway haha, luckily I already got the whole 'if you hurt her I hurt your face with my bat' lecture so I don't have to worry about that."

Sara groaned a bit, then laughed at the mental image of Oliver being lectured by her dad, though she had no clue when this would have happened without her around. Stepping to her door, the ginger unlocked the door to see her dad on the couch watching something on the television, then looking over to the two at the door.

He raised an eyebrow when he noticed them, "you're home early."

Raising a hand in a short wave Oliver spoke up in a respectful tone, "hi Mr. Lin, we left a little bit early, we were going to hang out for a little while across the hall at my apartment if that's okay? It was an eventful night, haha."

"Is anyone else there? Your father? Is your brother home visiting or anything?" Richard asked.

"Not right now, Joe's still out at his dorm and my dad is away for the weekend for work. We were just going to watch a movie or two or something like that," the blond answered honestly, to which Sara's father replied with a satisfied, "honesty. Good. Okay, you guys are fine, I trust you two, you know the rules."

Sara and Oliver nodded smiling, the boy speaking "yes sir."

Quickly the girl next to him leaned up and swiftly kissed him on the cheek, "I'll be back in a minute, I'm gonna grab a few things," then turning to her dad, "please be nice, no threatening him!"

Yelling back to her as she walked off to her room, "hey, I wasn't going to do anything!"

A muffled "can't hear you!" came back in response from her room as Oliver stood a few feet from the entrance of the hallway.

He turned to look back at Richard and stepped a little bit towards the couch and sat on the seat closest to him as Richard asked, "so how'd it go?"

"It was great, she accepted the ring and the whole performance part was almost flawless," Oliver responded smiling, bringing a smile to the face of the girl's father as well.

"That's great, I'm happy for you two. You better keep your promise to my girl. I know you will already, but just, treat her right. I like you Oliver, I wouldn't want anyone else dating my daughter." Richard said sincerely, firmly shaking Oliver's hand at the end of his sentiment.

"Thank you sir," the boy replied smiling, to which the older man shook his head and replied, "just call me Richard," Oliver giving a small nod in response.

Down the hall in Sara's room, she was packing a small bag with things such as comfy clothes and makeup wipes, but she could hear the two boys talking in the other room, making her smile.

She was in the midst of looking for her phone charger, mumbling to herself, "oh come on, I know it's around here..."

Picking up an article of clothing in hopes of finding the cord, she froze seeing what had been under it. She was standing in the corner of her room with a jacket in her hand, staring down by her feet as she looked at the ukulele case. It had been so long since she had played or even seen the instrument, and she began to tear up a little bit upon seeing it. She quickly grabbed a tissue from off the dresser next to her and tapped softly at her waterline in hopes of catching the tears before they caused any makeup to run.
