Finals

"You've got this Sara Lin," the nervous girl muttered to herself, taking a deep breath before stepping into her classroom, ready to take her final math exam of the year, the one that would determine if she would graduate this year that she had studied tirelessly for for the last two weeks.

Sitting down in her seat, practically quaking in her cowgirl boots (A/N: I'm so sorry I literally hate myself for that-), terrified that she was going to fail, she placed her bag down by her feet, taking out her pencil case and everything she needed, looking over her notes one last time. Luckily she had shown up to her classroom around ten minutes before the test was scheduled to begin, giving her enough time to look over all the areas she had the most trouble with in hopes of it sticking in her head long enough to be able to finish the test and get a high enough score to bring her failing grade in the class up.

Around midway through looking things over for the second time, the teacher called for the students to put everything that wasn't pencils and such away, beginning to pass out the exam papers as the teenagers shoved things into their backpacks. As the upside-down packet at on her desk dauntingly, Sara stared down at it. Once they were allowed to begin, she got straight to work, knowing she'd probably need every available second to finish the full test.

An hour and 45 minutes later, she managed to finish her test with reasonable confidence in her work, hopeful that she had at least gotten a C, the score she would need to bring her final grade up enough. Remarkably, she still had 15 minutes to spare, so she spent five checking over her answers and looking for anything she could have done wrong, then after handing the completed packet to the teacher, she sat back in her seat, pulling out a piece of paper and doodling random little things.

Noticing the teacher continuing to grade, she felt herself grow nervous, her confidence wavering as she watched his pen make quick small marks on the papers. She had been the last one to finish with the first person finishing around 45 minutes in, and he was only spending five or so minutes on each test, so she was fearful about when she would be on hers. Continuing to draw in an attempt to distract herself, she felt her nerves calm down slightly, though she couldn't stop herself from glancing up every few seconds.

With everyone finished, quiet chatter was allowed throughout the room, and after a few minutes the time was up and people were being called up to get their grades back. With Sara having finished last, there was plenty of time for her anxiousness to rise, bubbling up in her as he called more and more names and students walked out, tests in hand.

Eventually, "Sara Lin!"

She walked up to the teachers desk, reaching out a hand and examining his blank expression until he gave a small smile, "very well done, Sara."

Her eyes widened and her face brightened as she felt her heart speed up, taking the packet into her hands. Looking at it, a huge smile grew on her face, feeling wild excitement and pride take over as she quickly thanked him, gripping the papers in one hand and clutching one strap of the bag on her shoulders in the other as she ran out of the room and sprinted down the hallway, eagerly looking all around through the crowd of students being released from their finals as well. Tears of joy welling up in her eyes, she soon made it outside, and immediately she ran for the front gate and looked just around the corner, seeing exactly who she had been looking for.

"OLIVER!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs down the sidewalk, turning many heads toward her, but the only one she cared about was his as he whirled around extremely confused.

With tears streaming down her face she sprinted over towards him, her arms rapidly swinging back and forth propelling her even faster. As she got up to him his eyes were wide and he quickly braced himself as the girl got closer, soon running into him and wrapping her arms around his waist and squeezing him tightly in pure joy.

"Woah, what's up Sara?" He said with his arms slightly out to the side, allowing her to hug him but not exactly hugging back.

Stepping back with an ear-to-ear smile on her face, she wiped her eyes with her free hand and excitedly held the test out to him, "look!!"

Taking the papers, still confused, he looked down at the front age to see a 92% circled in bright red ink. Immediately his eyes widened and he was left gaping in happiness for the girl, and after a minute he looked back up at her and frantically grabbed her shoulders with a huge smile.

"SARA LIN OH MY GOSH, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!" He leaned down, engulfing her in a hug, lifting her off the ground and quickly spinning her around.

Hearing him say he was proud of her with that smile, Sara felt her mind go totally blank and felt herself freeze up until he hugged her. Feeling his arms surround her small torso, she wrapped her arms behind his neck and shoulders and hugged back, more tears beginning to flow from her eyes as she laughed in ecstasy.

Even once he placed her back on the ground, the redhead didn't stop hugging him and shouted, still overcome with joy, "thank you so much Oliver, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you!"

"No Sara, this was all you, I just helped you figure out how do it in a way that worked for you!" He exclaimed proudly, pulling back and looking at her with a wide grin, his eyes lit up with happiness.

Laughing in response, she pulled him back and hugged him again, him hugging back just as tightly as he repeated, murmuring softly, "I'm proud of you."
